Beard and Nape hair to create a hairline

I've been a Norwood 5 1/2 the last 5 years, no or very little change in that time. I keep my hair trimmed short which helps my appearance, but I still look 15 years older than my age. My hair in the donor zone is quite course, not suitable for a soft hair line. However, my beard hair is fine, very similar to my nape hair. Would it be possible to use this hair to create a receded looking hairline and the courser donor hair to add some density behind?
I'm at a stage in life where I want to improve my appearance for personal reasons. If I could achieve this I'd be very happy.

I`ve seen quite a few who`ve used nape hair to soften the hairline, not come across beard hair for the hairline unless it's behind the initial hair.
Beard hair has a different texture.
Nape hair is outside the safer zone, it can thin or disappear altogether.
The best thing would be to consult with a few clinics.

I agree with BM iv'e also heard of people using Nape hair but as BM says you run the risk of it thinning....it all depends on the individual though as i have an uncle who is totally bald but his nape hair is superb and still there.
Where are you based? If your in the UK then both Dr Ball and Dr Farjo are both very ethical and would be a good option to consult with.....as are the other clinics who regularly post on here for that matter;)

Thanks for the recommendations Bullitnut. My nape hair has a very distinct V shape, very thick which I believe has not thinned any.
I'm presently living in Sweden, originally from Cork, Ireland. I was hoping I could find a clinic nearer here but if I have to travel I will.

No problem. Don't personally know of many clinics in Sweden but in terms of distance their is Hattingen Hair and the good clinics in Belgium too like BHR, Feriduni, Dr Devroye, Dr Mwamba, Medikimos to name a few.
Vinci have a clinic in Stockholm i think too but never seen any of that particular Vinci clinics results on here i don't think. (That doesn't mean i don't think they are good i just don't know anything about that clinic).

Hi Zammer,
In my experience, I've yet to come across where beard hairs are finer caliber hairs than scalp hairs. Beard hairs are viable donor hairs and can be used to help thicken density. The scalp donor hairs have some strong hairs but there will also be some fine hairs for the hairline too. Once the hairs (grafts) are separated after harvesting by FUT or FUE method, you will be able to sort through the single hair grafts for the fine hairs.
