My HT story

I decided to go for a hair procedure on 29th of June. I've been losing my hair since before I was 20 - I'm now 47.I opted for DHI Glasgow after much research. I was also considering Vinci in Glasgow but plumped for DHI.
I have been using minoxidil since I was around 25, propecia since I was approximately 30 and nisoral shampoo since 40. I believe they have all contributed to slowing down my hair loss but ultimately I was still losing my hair.
I have gradually lost most of my hair over the years but haven't considered something (in my my mind) as drastic as a hair transplant until this year. I started using a laser cap around October last year and this seemed to stabilise my hair loss. Perhaps this stability made me think a ht could now work for me.
I only wanted something subtle and I made this clear with the first meeting at DHI. The decision was made to go for the mega+ session which lasted one day. I wanted this to go across the front and crown with a limited number of grafts through the middle. The key for me is subtle as I want to limit the number of people who know I've had the procedure. My wife knows and is very supportive and I'm not sure if I want anyone else to know .... I'll just need to see how it plays out.
I want to mention that I've been following this site for a number of months and it's really helped me following other people's stories. I decided I really should do the same as it might help others who are considering their options.
I also want to make it clear I am about the furthest away from brave that you can imagine. I have been so anxious in the build up to my procedure. In all honesty I didn't have anything to worry about as I was in really good hands.
Anyway here is a picture the day before my procedure

I phoned up a few days later and asked for graft number and hairs. The total number of grafts were 1827 equating to 3898 hairs.
I'm not expecting miracles .... just a subtle improvement that gives me a boost

Here is a picture from last week, so about 5 weeks after and most grafts have fallen. Just waiting now .... I'll provide updates at around 3 to 4 months ;)

Hi Long Game

Can you remember what Dr performed your procedure? I'm considering DHI Glasgow for myself.

Thanks

It was Dr George Papadimitriou. About 2 months before I was really keen to know who my Doctor would be and was told it would be one of three doctors. I did my research and they were all Master Surgeons and all checked out well. A month before they could tell me it would be Dr Papadimitriou. I thought he was excellent. Time will tell how it works out for me 🤞🏼. Good luck and I wish you all the best with whatever decision you make👍🏼

Welcome to the forum.
Crowns are notorious for eating up grafts, you should get a modest covering with the amount you had transplanted there. The frontal work will provide a framing of your face. You did get a good hair count for the number of grafts extracted. After 12 months you may feel you want another session to add more density or you may be happy with how it looks.Good to hear the meds are working for you, hopefully, you don`t lose any more hair.
Thanks for sharing your story. I`ll look forward to following your progress.
All the best.

Hi and it's now been just short of 4 months and I'm pleased with progress and look forward to it continuing. Please remember, especially for younger guys on this forum, what I'm happy with may be vastly different to what you're after so bear this in mind.My wife said this week my hair was looking 'bushy' and I'm feeling more confident about my appearance. I'll show photos at 3 months then just short of 4 - it's been a good month. This is 3 months:
