Hi guys, as I have mentioned in another thread I am 40 years old and norwood 6. One year ago I had to shave my head and after that I decided that I want to do something about it.
After having been advised from the forum members I visited the DHI Clinic, where I spoke with Mr. George Stathis and Dr Papanikolaou. They suggested 2500 grafts in a & b area for 5000 euros with FUE (2 days session) and have a second transplant after 6-9 months.. They showed me a 2 second live surgery, pictures with results and a guy who had a transplant 9 months ago.As I said in a previous thread I finally decided to go for DHI and yesterday I finished the second day of treatment.
Impressions
The staff, from the receptionist to the cleaning lady, was very polite. The whole building was impeccably clean. Dr. Papanikolaou was direct and honest and explained the process briefly to me. What made the biggest impression on me is that they didn t try to sell their services to me but they prompted me to do some research (which I had already done but didn t tell them). And so I called the clinic and booked an appointment for Monday - Tuesday. They gave me instructions such as no alcohol, no coffee , no aspirin - vitamins and to wear a shirt .
Hair Transplant Day
Doctor of the procedure was Dr Papanikoalou and his assistant Mrs Zacharopoulou Natassa (19 years in the clinic). The latter is a remarkable technician who has traveled around the world to implant hair on very important people. After the hair wash with the hairdresser, I changed clothes and we went to the operating room for the hair design. We started with local anesthesia (didn t feel a thing) and then we started the extraction. The doctor extracted 1159 grafts (extraction ratio 1.92). The placement of the grafts was in zone a and we finished around 16:15.
Yesterday we continued with 1277 grafts, with the aim of maximum density (fully covering the front and a little of zone b). Several doctors visited our room and the medical director who supervises and monitors the procedures (two other HTs occurred at the same time). Moreover, Mr. Stathis came to my session room to ask me if I need anything and check if all goes well. I felt very secure. During the session Dr Papanikolaou was describing the process and was answering my questions.
After the surgery
The doctor took some pictures of me and gave me a bag which contained pills against swelling, saline spray, shampoo, an aloe vera spray for the donor area and a pillow cover. They advised me go there for the hair wash.
Conclusion
I am tired but very satisfied. I believe Dr. Papanikolaou and his great team, of professionals and experts on the field of hair restoration exceeded my expectations. I will try to update you with my progress
