Hi all, I recently had an FUT procedure with Dr Ball at Ziering Hammersmith. Info and pics below.
1s 386 2s 1102 3/4s 322 Total 1810
Holding solution - hypothermasol. 2 layer donor wound closure (Trichophytic closure). On avodart for 10 months pre surgery, recently switched to propecia.
Feel free to ask me any questions, I will be updating this thread over the next few months.

Hi Duffman

Thanks for posting the pictures the work looks very good and I like how you have kept your existing hairline , the amounts of grafts placed should give a nice result , wishing you good recovery and great growth all the very best.

Cheers

Work looks excellent as always, I like the hairline it's a nice shape and not too low and still fairly conservative which is good for the future....Dr Ball is doing really good work so I'm sure you will be very happy when grown out.

Thanks for posting dude and have a nice Xmas.

Thats a nice amount of grafts to restore the hairline and should look fab. Why did you change from Avodart to Propecia?

Thanks guys for the replies. @baldasbadger I chose to switch to Propecia due to the fact that this is "less potent" as avodart (single blocker rather than double blocker to my knowledge[?]) and both myself and Dr Ball felt like this would be better for now at my age (27). If required in the future I will switch back to Avodart. I also felt like I was experiencing certain side effects; however these may have been in my head.
@Dazzster thanks for your comments, I actually chose Dr Ball over the other surgeon I had in mind due to the fact I didn't have to shave down.

Thanks again everyone and happy christmas. I am currently 16 days post op so will try and post an update over the next few days (this will unfortunately be via an Iphone as I don't own a camera). c;;9

Makes perfect sense to switch if you were having sides on Avodart. Did you go on the Avodart first, or did you try Propecia then switch to Avodart?

Are you experiencing any sides now on the Propecia?

Hi Badger, I did go on Avodart first, as the initial consultation I went to advised me to do this.
"Are you experiencing any sides now on the Propecia?"
- prob too early to say, but I do feel a decrease in the sides I believe I felt previously.

I am hoping to get some updated pics up soon. I have started taking msm and biotin. What dosage does everyone use for biotin? I got mine from Holland and Barretts and they are tiny!

Congratulations!!!

Re Biotin, I only use 500's and i still find my hair grows faster compared to without them. I have read you should drink plenty of water with Biotin because some people can get spotty.

4 week update
I have tried my best to get a couple of decent(ish) pictures. I am now 1 day away from 4 weeks post surgery with Dr. Ball.
I take 1mg Propecia, MSM, Biotin, Multi vit and vit C daily. I have slight numbness in the recipient area and as you can see I am still yet to shed the transplanted hairs.

Looking good with no sign of surgery, I wonder if the transplanted hairs will stay without shedding. The numbness is normal so don't worry about that. Thanks for the update.
Cheers Bm.

Hi all, I am now 5 weeks post op and have shred approximately 70% of my transplanted hairs, particularly in the temple regions. I thought for a second I may have been one of the lucky ones and kept them all! I have also now switched back to alpecin shampoo (today) and continue all of the above meds.

Not a lot to show picture wise so will probably hold off another week before updating.
