Hi it was a good experience bullinut.
Didnt find getting my hair shaved the most joyful experience as I look like an orang-utan, however, I can see the advantages of this and would have to say I feel its a must unless its really minor work. Existing hairs getting caught up in scabs resulting puling on grafts, possible temptation to use styling products etc ....
I bled really badly on the second day and this resulted in extremely bad crusting / scabs which I was somewhat concerned about
th_crying.gif

Bart asked for photos sooner than normal due to this and as a result instructed me to have my first wash/ shampoo of the implant area a day early ( day6 today ). I cant describe how good it felt to do this and see what what was going on on the scalp not to mention the removal of the constant temptation to want to itch at it , unbearable !
The first shampoo ( keratene supplied by Bart) has removed about 3/4 of the crusts scabs and revealed a slight red area at the front. Dont believe I lost any of the grafts in this first wash as dont believe I bled at all .
No real issues travelling other than getting the 2x 100ml aftercare products through customs at brussels . I opted for a flights with KLM newcastle to amsterdam then connecting flight to brussels as this was £300 cheaper than the bmi direct from newcastle .Didn't find the local taxi drivers particularly knowledgeable of the local area which was odd.But the trains were good and you can pay whilst on the train which is a bonus.
Stayed in the Bristol Hotel which was within walking distance of pro hair clinic , unfortunatly it rained whilst there so got taxis. Hotel was basic but had good wifi which was a god send. Had some bites from staying in hotel though so maybe bed bugs or similar.

7 days since procedure , feel like I am returning slightly to normality. Have to say the hardest part so far has been living with the scabs / crusts for the first 7 days
Following pics are 7 days in . 99 percent crusts gone. Really happy with how the donor area looks as well . Dont think I will have any problems having a short hair style at rear

And finally again 7 days in
Cant wait for the 14 day point when I can get back to the gym feel like I have put a stone in weight on all this sitting around
th_sad.gif

Have to say though I am loving not having to use concealer on a morning, realise this may happen again subject to shedding.

Just a bit of further info for those who have not seen my previous posts]
-Age 35 ( just turned ha ) -Hair thinned out massively at front 10 years ago, tryed propecia for 18 months then gave up. However , loss didnt really get any worse in 10 years .-Started the meds again nov 2011, finasteride and regaine foam , noticed some regrowth in first year.- Used toppik for last 10 years and more recent in last 2 years with dermatch

That makes a difference when the scabs have gone, now we can see what your new hair pattern is going to look like.
Cheers for the update.

Everything looks really clean now the scabs have gone....it really does look good but unfortunately like everyone else your going to be heading for an emotional rollercoaster soon though when those babies shed dude so try and get something to take your mind of your head for a while lol.......its hard but when you come through the other side you will be very happy i'm sure;)

Thanks for all the comments.
Yes Janna I intend on posting pics week by week good or bad just to show a realistic record of what happens for people considering a ht.
Bullinut I realise I am about to enter a roller-coaster and I don't like them of any description either. I know its gonna go in coming weeks but somehow in a strange kinda way its comforting to see the transplanted hairs have grown in the last week even if they are not going to hang around for long.

I regret not getting this done a couple years sooner having been on the meds say a year

I think you done the right thing waiting and ensuring the loss was stabilized plus you got some growth as well from the meds , If I had of known this was possible myself years ago I would have had it done , the time is right now for you and its going to be awesome when it starts to bloom looking forward to your weekly updates .

Cheers

Dazz

Day 14 last image showing donor area. All redness has gone from the implant area which I did not expect so soon
th_Smile.gif

Either I have had some shock loss behind the implant area or this has highlighted to me how thinned out my hair was elsewhere. I was perhaps relying on the thick hair at the sides for my last hair style .I am back on the regaine foam allover as its not causing any issues. Really hate having my hair this short and I am dreading the implanted hairs falling out
