Looking for some help or information. I went to Cosmedica just over 9 months ago, had 3500 grafts, or so they say and so far It's not what I was expecting, my question is, does the hair get any thicker? as of this particular moment it's very thin.

Its hard to tell from the pictures because there is no pre op ones. But guessing between the differences of the two thicknesses of hair, it looks a bit thin for 9 months. But there is still plenty of time to thicken up. If you could post some pictures in the light, and a pre oo pic, it might give us a better idea.

Hi Lisbon just out of interest do you take any meds like proscar biotin etc? Full growth can take up to a year and a half so most places say. You might have to get another for density in a year if there is no improvement.

Hi whatyawant. Yes I took proscar and biotin for 6 months, but now take multi vitamins and biotin. I still have and use the revigen shampoo, sometimes use coconut shampoo and tea tree shampoo. I'm hoping I'm just a slow grower and it thickens up between now and the next 9 months, but I've not seen anything different since the 6 month mark. Also I don't fancy getting another HT, I didn't take to the injections, taking another 50-60 again is off putting.

Hi Mate

Its very difficult to say without having pre op pictures and some post op pictures help as well to see were the grafts were placed but judging by the pictures you have posted I would expect a bit more at this stage of your transformation , their is still time for things to thicken up in the next few months which I would suggest you wait for anyway wishing you all the best

Thanks for posting

Hi daz, thanks for replying. I will post a few pics of pre op and post op. Don't get me wrong looking back on old pics, there is quite a difference,iv got a hairline I hadn't seen in years but at this stage I was expecting a bit more density myself.

Hi Lisbon did you contact cosmedica? If so what was their response? Did you do anything unusual after the transplant in terms of after care?

Hi m8, yes I contacted dr acar on the 8.5 month mark, and they told me everything looks on track, and asked if I was still taking medications. Which I'm not as I finished all medications around the 6 month mark. Regarding the after care, no I went by the book with after care I was wanting to give the new hair the best chance of survival and growth, however after 1 month had to go back to work which I wear a hard hat as I'm self employed and have to keep the wolves away from the door, but I confirmed with dr acar that if and when I return to work would a hard hat affect the new hair, and was told not after 1 month. I'll just have to play the waiting game and keep the fingers crossed I'm like 1 of the Jackson 5 in a few months time lol.

Hopefully you will get some growth after a while, Will shaving the head be another option for you if you don't get the growth? Also i always find blow drying the hair makes it look much thicker!

Yeah I don't mind shaving the head, but it kind of defeats the purpose of doing the op. I'll give it to the 1 year mark, then decide what to do next.

I hope it improves, but it looks a bit better with the extra hair. will you go back to cosmedica if it doesn't work out?

I went for a number 2 crew cut to assess the situation. I'm 10 months post op, and I believe for some reason or another this has failed. A close up inspection,There are gaps everywhere where no hair has grew whatsoever. I can't see new hair coming through, not at this stage, I won't hold my breath. I've attached a photo, all comments welcome.

It's a long way to go, back to turkey, and might end up with the same predicament.

Thats quite bad man! This makes me very worried to be honest.
Did you ask cosmedica what the situation is? I think your limited with the options you need to go get another to fill the density out or get laser hair removal. feel sorry for you man.

It's a nice hairline. It's a shame you haven't got the density. Will you attempt to use the 10 year guarantee?

You could use fibres to thicken it but that again defeats the purpose of the OP.
