Which donor hair where?

Assuming strong donor hair, which hair should be put to the front and what to the crown - rear or side?

Rear to front and sides to crown?

Or sides to front and rear to crown, as this means least travel, so to speak?

The clinic will select finer hairs from both areas to place at the front of the hairline. The rest will be divided up depending on what density they are going for.

so they would look through the whole of the donor area to select single grafts 1st?

They will evaluate your donor and select the grafts required. An experienced clinic will spread out the extractions, maintaining the donor.

ok. thank you.

So I guess they would look at the whole donor area once shaved then try and choose single or doubles before extraction depending on where the transplant area would be.

Or, is it not really possible until extracted hairs are looks at under the microscope?

They use magnification to see the grafts they are going to select. It is possible that what they think is a single hair graft is indeed a 2 hair graft. This will be checked again under a microscope if the clinic use them.

This is what they see using the microscope to sort the grafts.

You see the little fine hair on the 4 graft unit. That could be separated/split away to use as a fine single hair.

That looks like it would be very inyricate and time consuming work.

Under a microscope a good technician can see and split grafts easily.
