Artas Machine

I hope everybody is doing well, and while I haven't posted in awhile, I still read the forums. I was very disturbed last week, I showed up at my Dermatologist for a follow up appointment. There was a hand made sign on the entry door introducing two Doctor's that would be performing hair transplants via ARTAS at their office. One name I did recognize but the other is the only "recommended" transplant doctor in Michigan. He is recommended on another site and having viewed his results, very poor at best.I was waiting to be called back, and watched a guy of maybe about 40, being maybe a NW2-3 booking a procedure (ARTAS) for November. I feel I should have attempted to talk to him but I got called back while he was still at the counter. I was hoping that these machines were fading away, as most respected hair transplant doctors have ditched them. I guess there will be many victim's seeking repair work in the coming year(s). Sad

Hi Thincity.
It's sad the amount of non hair transplant clinics that now offer hair transplants. Dentists, Dermatologists etc are jumping on the band wagon. They have a lot of patients through the doors, so advertising a hair transplant is an easy way for them to make some extra money. The problem is getting worse all around the world.
It's a shame you weren't able to have a chat with him.

Hi Bigmac, I agree, this is not the only Artas machine close to where I live. One is at a Skin and Vein center, the other another Dermatologist. While I still need some work, I wouldn't use a Artas procedure even if it was 100% free. I thought by this time, we would be moving forward in professional, competent, skilled hair transplant doctors. Because of these pop up clinics, I think we are moving backwards to the bad days of plugs and mini-grafts.

The problem is hair transplants are being sold as an easy cosmetic procedure that needs little skill with good money earning potential. Non-HT clinics are being targeted by companies selling them something they think is a good way to make money.

I saw this image by an Artas user and thought to myself it looks too good to be true. Showing a cropped picture next to long hair is not showing a true comparison.
