The patient at present is pretty pleased but we obvioulsy expect more yield to come in the following months.

Kind regards,

I have read that the pitting is caused by poor surgical technique or not enough epidermis being trimmed from the graft before placement, is this true?

Did he have any of the old plugs removed prior to the new transplant, or was the plan to disguise them with the new grafts?

To say this patient is only at the 5 month stage and you expect more, he has considerable growth already and has retained a normal looking hairline again.

Hi baldasabadger10,

Thanks for the comments. From our experience, most of the pitting cases we have seen are due to previous surgeries where recipient area was not treated correctly, mainly because of the depth of the sites.

In this case, Dr. Bisanga worked around those "plugs" and we did not remove them.

Kind regards,

Hi,
In order to add some more details, pitting is basically due to poor placing of grafts with epidermis seating below skin.
