I never, ever write reviews of anything but I had to about The Maitland Clinic. Each staff member is genuinely invested in your journey. Hair restoration is more than just a job for them, it's a passion. I was made to feel comfortable every step of the way and not persuaded into getting surgery at all. Dr Ball is so down-to-earth and talented at the same time. His work is of such high quality, it cannot be faulted. I wouldn't have wanted anybody else in the world to have touched my hair apart from Dr Ball and his team. I'm in awe of all of their talents and I cannot wait to see the results. From patient advisor, to nurses, to hair technicians to surgeon - I can't thank you enough. Please consider The Maitland Clinic, you will not be disappointed. I am 10 days post op awaiting suture removal ;)

Congrats on your recent surgery. You chose an amazing clinic and I'm certain you will be thrilled with the outcome.
Will you be going back to them for the sutures removing or will you be using a walk in centre or GP.....just curious?
Let us know how it goes when you have them out.....nothing to worry about though just interested...... I've had three sets of sutures removed and it's a piece of cake.

Hi Femalehairlines,
Thanks for the glowing review of our clinic. We're so pleased you're happy with your experience. We look forward to supporting you throughout your progress.
Bn,
We're arranging an appointment to get the stitches taken out at our clinic in Portsmouth. This is ideal so we can take a look at the recipient as well as the donor areas. From the pictures we've seen at one week post op, femalehairlines is healing up very well.

Hey;)More than welcome Janna.
BN:
Yes, I'd much rather travel down to The Maitland Clinic for a thorough check up! Thanks for your reassurance regarding the stitches and choosing the Maitland! I can't wait to take them out now! I've just noticed a couple of hairs shedding on the grafted area too. I'm day 12 post op - cannot wait for final results.Z:B ¬b`:T:

Hi and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you had a very positive experience which is good to hear. Getting those stitches out does feel good. You may feel some lingering tenderness around the scar which is quite normal.
Looking forward to following your journey and seeing your pictures if you decide to add them.
All the best.

Thank you for your response Bigmac. It was a relief to get the stitches taken out. I have experienced some swelling at the left and right hand sides of the bottom of my occipital bone and as you mentioned, tenderness around the scar. My scar is itching as it heals. Suture removal really was a piece of cake! Thanks to my lovely nurse, Karen. ¬b`I'm also regaining sensation to the rest of the scalp which is great. All the best

I bet your excited i know I was as it's the best thing I've ever done and so rewarding to see the hairs coming/growing back.
Glad the suture removal went as expected and everything is healing nicely.
One bit of advice....try not to obsess over your hair over the coming months...I know it's difficult but if your constantly looking in the mirror at where the grafts were put then the wait for the new hairs seems to drag like you wouldn't believe....I know this from my first surgery I was always looking in the mirror and it can be such an emotional rollercoaster. Best to take your mind off it if possible and it will go much quicker.
I'm excited for you the next 12 months are going to be life changing.
Best wishes Bn

Hey BN, thanks for your reply. My only obsession at the moment is just hiding the grafts at work with my fringe! Nobody has noticed yet so, so far so good. It's a pain to keep checking that they're not showing but it's completely worth it. Yeah, can't wait to see final results!!! I think I'll be so pleased. All the best,

Have a great Christmas

That's good to hear everything went smoothly. I was relieved when my sutures were removed and I could just lay my head down without thinking about it.
The tenderness and itchiness are both normal but soon pass.
Now just the waiting game.
All the best.

Thank you hope you have a great one too. I can imagine what it must be like having to hide then but I agree it's so worth it. Can't wait to hear about things as they progress.

The transition of direction for the graft placement is impeccable in this image. Well done!

Thanks for your support all. I can't wait to see how it develops. Dr Ball specifically placed the grafts at certain angles to mimic my natural hairline and flow which isn't straight forward as it grows at all different angles. Such a talented Dr. Healing process has been great so far.
All the best

Femalehairline456 has updated us with pics from 6 months post op.
Like so many patients at this stage, she's experiencing uneven growth from one side to the other.

I'd like to add that she is very happy with her progress as it's "massive difference".
