Hello,

Has anyone tried any of the laser hair therapy products that are available. I see that Ziering have one that can fit in a baseball cap or Halo Elite sell one.

Do they work opposed to hair surgery?

Thanks

Captain

Never tried any of them dude and have heard mixed reviews over the years regarding laser treatment. Some doctors believe this type of treatment is all a load of old rubbish and some believe it has potential benefits.

I think the baseball hats haven't been around too long though, i personally only heard about them early this year. They look very cool but like you i would love to hear some patient experiences regarding these as well.

Just read this Captain

FDA approve Igrow system

This system treats affected areas of the scalp, requires no manual movement and is the first hands-free Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) hair growth device cleared by the FDA for home use. LLLT is rapidly becoming widely accepted as an alternative to drugs and surgery.

"This landmark achievement represents a significant and strategic milestone for Apira Science," said xxxxxxx, president and CEO, Apira Science. "The platform provides effective LLLT treatment, previously only available in a professional setting. This safe and effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia offers significant advantages over other LLLT devices currently on the market, and will forever change the way men's hair loss is treated. We have invested in innovative engineering and applied science to develop an effective light-based hair growth system that consumers can use in the privacy of their homes."

Male pattern hair loss affects a large portion of the male population according to The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. It estimates that that over 35 million men in the US are afflicted with this condition. The onset of male pattern hair loss can begin in the late teen years and progress over a lifetime.

Products that address the in-home device market for LLLT hair growth are expected to grow exponentially through the continued introduction of effective and convenient treatments.

"The platform utilises non-invasive, low-level red laser and LED light to effectively re-energize the unhealthy cells that are in and around the hair follicle," said Xxxxxx, president, medical device division, Apira Science. "We designed this platform to optimise all that is scientifically known about LLLT for hair growth. The results from our recently completed study proved the effectiveness of its LLLT in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia."

I heard laser hair therapy doensnt work. I also had a hair transplant. I only had 1600 graphs added which wasn't enough. Need to get at least 4-6000 for a nice full head of hair and that costs around 8- $10,000. a lot of money

I think I read that at the end of the day the light therapy maintains the hair and keeps it healthy but I iMagine you are right that it does not produce the same results as a HTc;;9

I guess Theradome Hair Loss Helmet is winning the hearts of the hair loss sufferers because it is successfully helping all of `em to combat their hair loss at the comfort of their homes. In their[sup] "[/sup]clinical studies ALL participants benefited from the Theradome „¢ and experienced one or more of the following: 1) Thicker and more manageable hair, 2) Reduced hair loss, and 3) New hair growth after three to four months."

Moreover, Theradome Laser hair therapy is similar to exercise, you have to keep it up to continue to enjoy the benefits. Once you get the results you want, you can slightly reduce treatment schedule every five days or so.

Hi Captain just read this on the Igrow.

The clinical study of the iGrow Hair growth system titled"The growth of Human Scalp Hair Mediated by visible Red Light Laser and LED Sources in Males" was recently recognized at the 33rd annual conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine and surgery inc. (ASLMS). The study, which was led by Raymond J. Lanzafame, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., a board-certified surgeon and expert in laser applications and laser research, was awarded the Best Overall Experimental and Translational Research Award. The study has also been published in the October 2013 issue of lasers in surgery and medicine. The ASLMS annual conference unites a multidisciplinary group of scientists, clinicians, residents, students, healthcare professionals, and industry representatives to address state-of-the-art clinical and research applications of laser technologies and investigate the future of patient care.

The iGrow Hair Growth System, developed by Apira Science inc, a pioneer of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for over a decade, is a highly effective, hands-free LLLT hair growth device cleared by the FDA for use at home. Its patented red light technology treats affected areas of the scalp by energizing unhealthy follicle cells and promoting hair growth. It is indicated to promote hair growth in males with androgenetic alopecia who have Norwood classifications of IIa to V.

The award-winning clinical study was conducted using a double-blind, randomized controlled trial to define the safety and physiologic effects of LLLT, delivered by an igrow hair growth system, on male scalp hair follicles and surrounding tissue. Participants who submitted to iGrow treatments every other day at home saw a 35 percent increase in hair growth over a 16-week period with no side effects.

"The clinical study was conducted on 44 men ranging in age from 18 to 48, all afflicted with varying levels of androgenetic alopecia--male pattern baldness," said Dr. Lanzafame. "The results of the study showed the igrow hair growth system to be an effective and safe method for increasing scalp hair counts in men, as compared to those who used an identical-appearing placebo device."

The ASLMS awarded the iGrow study one of the highest honors at its annual conference, placing it among four award recipients honored for exceptional research or other contributions in the laser technology field. ASLMS accepted 305 abstracts for presentation at the 2013 Annual Conference. Papers receiving awards were selected from 20 nominees for the prestigious conference awards.

"Through groundbreaking research like that conducted by Dr. Lanzafame, we're able to show unequivocally that at-home use of LLLT can reverse hair loss in men suffering from androgenetic alopecia," said Jeff Braile, President of Medical Products at Apira Science, Inc. "We're already building upon this research with a second clinical trial that was recently completed to measure the effectiveness of the iGrow in treating women's hair loss. We are confident that this trial will deliver similar positive results. This recognition by the ASLMS further validates the success of the iGrow Hair Growth System for men as an effective and safe alternative to more cumbersome and costly traditional hair-loss treatments."

Hi Bullitnut!
Very Nice Sharing and sounds really effective. Good job! I hope it would as effective as Theradome and other best laser hair therapy.
Hair Loss Sufferers must look over these kinds of FDA cleared home made devices.

Curious if the FDA approves something that just means its safe to use correct? Doesnt mean it actually works right?
I saw a laser led hat type thing for like $3000 USD.
I thought it was a joke at first. I just dont see how wavelength of light can stimulate hair follicles. maybe im too old school.
