Hair loss for unknown reasons

Hello! i am a girl of 20 years old and i experience gradual, but evident hair loss. I doesnt come out in lumps, but its everywhere in my room and i noticed that over several years it became more thin. Also i have been having scalp aches for about 2 years, it might have been stress, but i dont think stress has that long effect?! the problem is that thin hair really doesnt suit me and my hair structure is frizzy so if i dont style it it looks a mess. I would have gladly done a short haircut already but it so wouldnt suit me, becaus ei have a really curvy body with an obvious pear shape and a southrn-looking face with big eyes/lips/everything (i am mixed asian european, but peole usually mistake me for spanish or bazilian). Try to imagine kim kardashian with lanky hair, in short! it wouldn't do... I ma also a singer so image is obviosuly importnat for me.
I dont want to cut my hair but as it is thinning i probably will have to use extensions, but they say they can cause even more hair loss... i was even thinking of shaving and getting a hair system, really this problem has got on my nerves so much... :(

its horrible conditions you are a singer so image is obviosuly importnat for you

Well, if your hair is really falling out then see a dermatologist, but if it can be fixed heres what i would do.
Use a strengthening shampoo to reduce breakage
Coconut oil and egg can speed up the hair process by heating up the blood cells in your head and making the hair cell have more energy.
Try to only brush 50 strokes a day, most people make the mistake of overbrushing their hair

Sometimes its hard to determine the reason but once you visit a doctor / dermatologist and get a confirmed diagnosis it is much easier to find a solution. Good luck!

Not sure what country you are in. You say medical reasons have been ruled out, but here's my story.

I suffered hair loss for about 7 years. It started during a very stressful episode and gradually got worse. Initially I looked at my diet and endeavoured to eat more protein. I am a vegetarian. After about 5 years of my hair getting thinner and thinner and more and more unmanageable, I visited the doctor (I'd rather have root canal work than visit a doctor, but I gave in). Just a few months previously I had made a decision to take iron supplements of 14mg a day. I explained my symptoms, hair loss, dizzy spells and always feeling cold. I said that the iron supplements did not seem to be making any difference so far. I was sent some days later to the nurse for a blood test for iron levels and a thyroid function test.

Apparently all was in order, so I discontinued the iron supplements. Sixteen months after this I was struggling to walk up a flight of stairs without gulping for breath and I could hear my heart constantly beating in my ears, especially at night. So without going back to the doctor I started taking iron supplements again and I upped the dose to 28mg. I also started to eat cockles and fish four times a week together with iron rich veg.

It is now 8 months later and for the last two or three months my hair fall has become 'normal.' My hair - although still prone to frizz - is gradually - oh so gradually - getting thicker. I no longer get dizzy spells, not even when I stand up, my heart beat no longer sounds like Niagara Falls in my ears and I have no problem with breathlessness walking up stairs. I'm still cold, but then I've not much fat.

I asked for a copy of my blood test and note that the ferritin levels were not taken. I understood that this measurement is like a fuel tank which has to be a certain level before hair grows.

I also think now that I should not have been taking the iron supplements for a period of time before the blood test (I took a dose maybe one hour before the blood test) as it was likely to skew the results.

I haven't been back to the doctor, although I know I will have to as I understand that overdosing on iron can cause organ damage. However, this time I will specifically ask that the ferritin levels are assessed and how long I should stop taking the supplements before the test.

Maybe I've got it all wrong, but hey, it's worked for me. I can empathise with everyone who visits this forum with hair-loss issues. To say it's demoralising is an understatement. I know that I'm lucky that my problem, although lasting 7 years, seems to have been only temporary.

If you are facing the problem of hair loss and want to know you can solve it through natural tips such as drink pure water, protect hair from dust, exercise, don't spa hairs, don't use different types of hair shampoo and soap. you can use Zero peroxide which is us product and tested in lab for hair regrowth.

Have you lost your weight dramatically? because I heard that it can also be the reason of hair loss.

So sorry to hear about your hair loss and I hope they return to normal asap. There can be some common reasons of hair loss such as:Your hair could be thinning due to : stress ( mental or physical/ injuries)lack of nutrients - iron and/ or protein tight braids or pony tails chemical treatments too often (dye, perm, relaxers) over conditioning your hair- can clog follicles, don't use more then 3x a week. anti frizz serums - can also clog follicles put it on your hair not your scalp. too much testosterone and the obvious...genetics. Whatever the reason is I believe that you can actually stop hair falling and even grow your hair back. You're only 20 years old which means age is not the factor in your hair loss which is a good thing. There are some amazing home remedies for hair fall and growing hair that can be helpful. Coconut oil is one of the amazing natural products that works like magic for hair fall. It not only stops hair fall but also make your hair stronger and thicker with a healthy shine. Olive oil is also very effective in this matter. Wash your hair with herbs like Amla, Ritha and sikakai powder which you can easily get from any Indian store. Aloe Vera is also an amazing magical herb for hair. It strengthens hair and stops hair fall. Honey and Aloe Vera mask are very beneficial for your hair. So if you're wondering, how to stop hair fall just follow these tips. I'm sure these will be helpful for you.
