Any Hair System wearers here?

I was wondering whether there were any hair system wearers here that wanted to share their experiences?

Or even people thinking of a hair system as a non surgical alternative to getting a full head of hair. If so and you have any questions I would love to help.

I have been wearing for a while now and I absolutely love my hair system.

This part of the site seems very underdeveloped in comparison with the traffic and posts in other parts so it would be great to inject some life and help some of you in the process ;)

This is a fairly new part of the site, it was introduced as wigs etc do play a part in hairloss treatments, any chance you could post some pictures.
Cheers Bm.

I believe they do have a place as long as the patient is fully aware of costs, maintenance, possible damage to existing hair.
People with Alopecia, Cancer or just bald in general all use wigs.
I would say if it's Mpb related, only high Norwoods who don't want a Ht should wear one, just my opinion.

Grincher, how is your wig attached to your head, also how long do you leave it on for and what maintenance is required. Are you aware that wearing wigs can cause further hairloss and damage the scalp depending on usage and if they are glued to your scalp.
Personally if I were you I would use concealers in your thinning area but that's just me, when I first started to look into hairloss I considered a wig but all those years ago there wasn't much info on them, I could only find ladies wig stores which was no good for me.

A modern hair system/unit and a wig (that you may know) is like day and night.

I started to lose my hair quite fast and my hairline was receeding further and further back.

Each hair system lasts me 8-months in primary use and another 4-months as a secondary/emergency piece. It could last 12-months but I like to change it.

I attach for 2-weeks at a time. There is very little daily maintenance; just a mirror check and comb. Every 2-weeks I spend 25-minutes removing, cleaning and reattaching. I use tape to attach but only around the perimeter so 90% isnt taped. Its very light and I dont even notice it on my head.

My piece is Swiss lace and my scalps breathes. There are thin skin pieces which you cant see or feel.

I go to the gym 5-days a week and shower in it. I wash and style it just like real hair. It is real human hair and costs £200-250 per piece. I use another £30 of product a year. I do it all myself at home.

I have read on forums of people wearing over 20-years without any side effects. My hair is growing normally under it and I do shave it short.

I dont like fibres. They are messy and have other drawbacks. I was using for 2-years, but a hair system is far far superior. At one point there was no hair on parts of my head for the fibres to cling to.

While a HT can work for some for others its not suitable. There are many people out there that have suffered unsuccessful ones at considerable cost. For me the risk, the drugs, the time and the cost of a HT isnt worth it without guaranteed results.

At the end of the day Hair System, HT, fibres - the more choice the better for each individual to find what works for them at the right time.

ps I would post the 2 companies I have used for you to see as there is much more information, but Im not sure forum rules would allow it.

Thanks for explaining your situation, I agree not everyone is a Ht candidate for whatever reasons and a wig may be a good viable option.
Links are not allowed but you can name the companies you use and people can search them if they are interested.

I started with Eric at NorthWest Lace (8-10 week delivery)
