Looking at your picture I would say you`re in the early stages of thinning judging by the density of the hair surrounding your crown.... Post a picture from a side on view. If it is thinning you should look into Propecia as you could stop it in its tracks before it advances further.

Looking at these pictures it appears you may have a hair pattern where the crown just looks thinner slightly.... The first picture looks worse as its under a light. You could contact some clinics for their analysis.

If there is any thinning it is minimal but it may just be the swirl in your crown the density in that area will always look less as a result but the rest of your hair around the swirl looks in really good shape. I would try not to be concerned at this stage, take some comparable photos in 6 months to compare if it looks thinner then that might be the stage to start doing something like Propecia or Minoxidil.

From the pictures is does like slight thinning under direct sunlight but its difficult to say as hair caliber and Characteristics all play apart as Garageland stated I would certainly take pictures and do comparisons , and to add my 2 cents I would go and have a couple of consultations if its really bothering you , I see WHTC are doing consultations in London in November the experts can actually measure your density and also give you Professional advice .

Cheers

Yes have a consultation with Dr Mwamba in London if possible as he will diagnose your crown. If thinning you could monitor it by means of monthly pictures to see how quickly you lose hair then decide if you want to try preventative medications.

It is possible to have a crown that looks thin, this is why you should get it checked out at some point by a reputable doctor.

Yes it looks like it has thinned out slightly when comparing to your surrounding hair - maybe if you had a picture showing your crown a year ago we would know for sure. That's a long shot I know.

It's hard to say if your crown is thinning from the pics. Your hair looks very thick every where else on your head. Even if you are starting to thin, the loss isn't significant enough for surgery. You should check into non surgical hair loss prevention methods at this point.

Comb your hair straight back and poof it would be gone. Balding does not start on one side of the back of your head. It €™s the natural whorl pattern of your hair and the same reason it appears so thick on the other side.

At the moment you are fine and you really should focus on something else in life for now.
