8 Days post op, I'm super itchy, but I'm not scratching.

Everything in the recipient area looking good, havent really had much scabbing around the grafts at all, only a little bit.

Steve has been a diamond, I thought that having had surgeries before I would know it all and not have had to phone him up, but I have phoned him loads always with different questions, and he has been totally cool about it. The aftercare at BHR is top notch.

Hi Sparky

Itchiness is normal as the skin heals and produces new, make sure to use the betadine 2 times daily as this will assist. Also keep on the cortisone cream which is anti-itch with the Aloe Vera twice daily..

Speak soon.

In the post op instructions it doesnt mention using the betadine twice a day, for days 2-7 it says wash once a day, then once or twice days 8-14, and the itchiness is in the scar, so wont be using the cortisone on that. Did my first shampoo wash today with baby shampoo, with gentle massaging on the grafts. It doesnt seem as itchy after that.

When can I use the 99.9% aloe on all the areas on my head? I think aloe vera gel has a very small amount of alcohol in it, so I would be concerned about that drying my head out.

Hi Sparky

At 8 days post op as you are, washing twice a day with betadine/shampoo will not do any harm and will in many instances give relief as you are encouraging the skin to be clean and to heal, exfoliate etc. This was certainly true in my experience.

There is aloe vera in the cortisone cream that is for donor. If you went and bought the Aloe Vera gel I believe you did then it is indeed 99.9% Aloe Vera and has if any very little alcohol and is indeed a moisturizer and should not cause dryness. Day 14 onwards you can use this all over to assist skin healing.

Cheers m8, will do. I bought the Aloe Vera from Holland and Barrett at the same time as the MSM tablets

9 Days post op, most of the hairs in the grafts are still clinging on, its hard for me to see if any have let go as the scar is on the back of my head.

Hairline seems to be healing well except for a few hairs that are being stubborn and have decided to grow back. Wellsbournes fault. Still quite scabby on the hairline a lot more than the virgin scalp that the fue was taken from.

Not as itchy today though.

I googled "where to buy inflammenz" and it came up with some results. None in the UK listed but appears you can buy and get it sent from the US.

My hairline is healing very nicely, and I'm starting to see signs that there are hairs growing into my scar, I'm only just past 3 months post op so this should be just the start of it.

I'll be going back in early April to get my hairline redone, as I had to allow 6 months for my hairline to heal, where they fue'd out the mis angled hairs.

No pics to post yet, I'll wait until April when my head is shaved and I'll post pics of what my scar coverage is like in my frsh grafts in the hairline.
