Rate my 3261 grafts FUE by Dr Demirsoy.

Hello everyone, it's been 25 days since I finally got a FUE hair transplant, with Dr.Demirsoy, in Istanbul, Turkey.

Why did I go with Dr. Demirsoy? I wanted to go to Turkey where the best price for value is, and I had narrowed down my list to Koray Erdogan and Demirsoy. I would have chosen Erdogan originally, but Demirsoy offered me the best possible date(I was lucky he's hard to book) and his assistant Muzaffer was the quickest to reply and the most precise in his answers.

Dr Demirsoy doesn't have much results to show online, because he only does one patient a day, his clinic is very small. He does everything except the graft placement (technicians/nurses). His record is frustrating to track because he has big ups and downs. Some of his results are on par with the very best names, but I've seen some very dissapointing, sparse results as well. He has a section dedicated to his patients on the German board Alopezie.de.

His price is very low, 1.25 euro per graft, it wasn't really what made me choose him, I was very eager to finally get that transplant and the timing was right. I'm so fed up with being balding.

I payed 4000 euros for the transplant(I was offered the 61 extra grafts because he had quoted 3200) and something like 300 for the hotel and transfer.

I was very well treated and everyone was extremely professional and dedicated at the clinic. The hairline design was exactly what I wanted.
Now let's see about what matters most, the results. It's a bit early to tell, but what do you think about the density, I can already notice the temples are more sparse than the hairline, but it might be normal.

Day of the operation, hairline design:

Right after the operation:

Day 11 when all the scabs fell off, and maybe(hopefully) some hairs already fell:

Day 19: crazy peeling, visible shedding:

7180_220324_160000004.jpg

3 weeks :

The shedding has started, slowly, but undeniably, and it seems that the inside of the temples is much more sparse than the rest, on both sides. Back on minoxidil;ss;;ss;

The crown area. I will most likely get a SMP next summer, seems like the best idea. Worried about having to stop minox again I might hop on the oral minox bandwagon for a month when I have to stop for the SMP!

Day 22

The shedding has become much more agressive and I have officially entered the ugly duckling phase.

Today is day 25 and it seems that the shedding has slown down, or maybe there's already less hair to shed. Dr.Demirsoy told me to avoid toppik for two months, so I'm stuck inside all day and wearing a hat whenever I can. Back to work on day 45, I'll spray some toppik and avoid the spray.

Your criticism is more than welcome. I'm hoping for the best results, and if I'm dissapointed I'll see if I can densify the recipient area with a small procedure at Feriduni's. I will most likely get smp for the crown, and hopefeully avoid another HT for a long time.

It's the final miles of a long hard road and we will see what's coming.

Incredible high-res photos! The work looks very refined, and with your hair characteristics, you should have an excellent result.

Day 40.

Back to square one, and actually a bit further down. There is almost no hair left, some have grown, some have not. Will use toppik a few times a week now, without spray, and I'll wash it off at night.
I had developped some early signs of pimples and my surgeon, upon viewing the pictures, recommended me to apply some antiseptic lotion.

I have been applying the antiseptic lotion a few times a day, with a cotton pad, and left it on for several hours, sometimes before going to sleep. My recipient area looks slightly better it seems.

Here are some pics of my current situation:

And now with some antiseptic cream on, applied with a cotton pad. Switched to minox once a day, only until my scalp starts looking better, soon!

Dr Demirsoy told me to wait one month and a half before I could get some impacts on my head, I'm a very active MMA/grappling competitor, so I still trained a little with very low intensity, I'm planning to start becoming more careless as of this week if that's okay. I forgot what the reasoning was behind so much caution, but I care about the hair more than about my upcoming tournaments!

Here I am, back to my public life, the next months are going to be the toughest!

Thank you all for the encouraging words.

Really? It seems to me that the very few hairs that look like beard stubble have been here for the beginning and just haven't moved. If they could already be early growing it would look very good for 40 days!

Still really anxious about the final result, it looked good early on, but I can't tell how many will come back, I have seen many results(including with my surgeon) with the guys ending up with like half of the transplanted grafts producing hair!

Getting closer to the moment of truth. Plenty of stubble-like hair that seem new but don't want to grow. A few new, thin hairs. A small pimple. The calm before the storm!

Hi there, I had a procedure with Dr Demirsoy on the 18th of July, so like you I am just 2 months out. I am similar to you right now, new fine hairs that have grown and plenty of stubble. I am actually comparing my results to yours since we had them at around the same time haha. Still early days, but looks promising

That's great! how many grafts did you get? we probably had a very similar experience then. Did you post a thread as well?

What made you choose Demirsoy? What do you think of his results overall? His recent results look very good to me and I'm surprised that he's so cheap. He did had a few bad cases but who doesn't?

This looks fine so far. Don't look at each hair coming in and judge it so soon. These hairs not only have to start growing but they have to mature and settle down. This means they'll soften, start laying properly and blending with the rest of the hair. But yeah, it seems to be on track so far. Nicely done on the photos.

Awesome to have Jotronic comment on my HT! I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with SK who wanted to apologize for missing a call. He was able to cheer me up during this tough period that you know well.
I've been worrying about all the time I spend wrestling and boxing but it's the only thing that keeps my mind off the hair. Spence was very reassuring, telling me that what is supposed to grow will grow unless I get a cut. Which wont happen with the headgear I wear!

He has done 3770 grafts on me but on a slightly larger area than yours. I chose him primarily because his results are really good. In terms of price, I dont think hes cheap as you can get cheaper, but considering his length of experience and his results hes very reasonably priced.

I haven't started a thread, but will definitely post at 6 month mark to show the difference, but by then I will probably stop coming on these forums lol.

The hairline hes done for me is spot on, and whole experience was straightforward.
Muzzafer his colleague is a top bloke.

I wanted to wait a little more to post an update, but this morning I couldn't resist taking pictures as I saw the noticeable shadow of the new hairline. Just took them as I woke up.

Here it is, 12 weeks and 3 days:

The left temple which is showing more growth at this point:

Right one

I need to buzz it all, maybe this afternoon, but waiting for some more thickening would be reasonable.

3 months and 4 days.

I just had a buzzcut to appreciate the early results better.

Quickly snapped some pics, the quality isn't the best, but I'm on a rush:

Quick look at my donor area:

This is just the beginning, and even if it's far from looking natural at the moment, the fear of a bad result is pretty much gone. I expect things to be at least decent, and a major cosmetic improvement.
