1500 FUE at Vinci (Dr Kyriakou) hairline and beard

So had my transplant this weekend at Vinci in Harley Street with Dr Nikolaos Zakynthinakis Kyriakou. All was very professional, right from the consultation through to the surgery. Consultation with Paul, very knowledgable and not at all pushy. I also spoke with Philip on here and he was also very helpful. I wanted some slight improvements to my hairline and some areas filling in, in my beard. It was recommend I'd need around 1500 grafts, I opted for FUE. I was concerned 1500 might not be enough but all involved assured me it was the correct amount.
I have no real signs of continued hairloss, my hairline has never been great but has gotten gradually worse as I've gotten older

I was impressed by the Dr and his team who looked after me on the day of the surgery. I was there around 9-10 hours.

Here's my hair before, as I usually wear it. Yea, it looks fine.

Pulled back to show my hairline.

I wanted some areas filling in on my beard, mainly the chin area.

Day 1 post op, just removed the bandage from the donor area.

I figured I'd be able to walk out of the clinic with my hair brushed forward to cover the transplant but the dr recommended I leave my hair scraped back for at least 3 days so not to disturb the grafts. Obviously I'm following the aftercare procedure to a tee.

Hi Wavemaster. Thanks for posting your story. The work looks good, I like how they have staggered the hair line to give it a natural look once grown in, beard looks good too.
Looking forward to following your progress.
Regards Bm.

Hi, I'm not taking anything and never have really. I have some regaine foam in the drawer. Should I use it after the scabs have healed?

Some better quality pictures (day 5)....
Everything's been alright, last night for the first time I had some pain and discomfort from the donor area. I've been sleeping on my back since I had done done but last night was awkward. That said, the donor area looks to be healing well.
Most of the scabs have shed from the beard area. None have shed from hairline but it feels good.
One thing I have noticed, now the scabbing has gone down, they've missed a bit in my beard area. There's a bald patch on one side, I hope it doesn't show when everything grows in!

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Welcome to the forum dude, Thanks for posting your experience with Vinci. It's not all that common we see people having work on the beard area on the forums, did you find any notable difference with the procedure on the scalp and the beard work, in terms of discomfort/healing/pain etc or was it exactly the same.....i know it's still fresh being only 5 days post op but just curious if there was any differences in terms of patient experiences between the two areas.
Hope that made some sense lol;)

The skin on the chin is more sensitive. I kinda knew this before going into it. Immediately after surgery, this was the part I could feel most. My lip was swollen for 3-4 days as well.

Last couple days the stinging in the chin area has been intense. All the scabs have shed more or less. I've had no discomfort or itching at all from the hairline area.

The facial areas have a lot of nerves which is probably why you feel some discomfort. Some pain meds should help with this.

Think I'm on day 11 now. All scabs went from hairline about 3 days ago, some redness remains. Back of head scabs have more or less gone now. I think another week or so I'd be able to get a hair cut and be able to stop wearing a baseball cap to hide the basin cut.
Tiny bit of flakiness remains in the beard area. I noticed I lost a few hairs from the beard implant areas in the last couple days. Also worth noting that in the beard chin area, you get these little bumps at the bottom of each implanted hair, you can see them in the last pic here if you look closely. I expected this because I'd seen it on another forum when someone got implants in this same area, he had the same bumps.
I'm supposed to be going back to Vinci in a couple weeks to get the bald spot in my chin filled in. Philip on this forum helped me out with that. One of the reasons I'm glad I choose a company from England and not overseas!

All looks like it is healing well. Good to hear the clinic will sort the small area of beard out.
I think you'll end up with a very good result.
Thanks for the update.

FUE Patient - 2000 Grafts
Looks class. I'm having 1500 done at Vinci in a couple of weeks and this has filled me with confidence. Very similar starting point to yourself too. Perhaps slightly worse.

Hope all is well mate.
Edit - Just looked back at my pics - http://imgur.com/a/JDd15 - pretty much having the same work done haha. Only thing is I have a different doctor, Luciano Carniero I think? Fingers crossed they're cut from the same cloth anyway because i'm impressed with your work :)

Day 24 post surgery. I started to shed hairs at around the day 14 mark. I still have some redness, and the hairline is still a little sore...all seems fine though. I finally got a haircut on friday, the worst thing about this whole experience has been wearing a cap for the best part of 3 weeks.
I went back to Vinci today to have the little spot filled in on my chin that I was concerned about. They were really nice, great people there. Dr did good job of taking taking the grafts needed for the patch from the back of my head without making the shaved area noticeable! He seems to really care about the result which is reassuring.

Hi wavemaster,

Glad it all went well today, good that the extraction could be made without any significant signs. Slowly getting back to no cap and some normality. Anything you need let me know. Phil

Just a little update, now at 5.5 weeks post. The recipient areas look virtually the same as my last pictures so I still have implanted hairs that that haven't shed.

Within the last week I had few pimples in the recipient area appear which I guess is good news., shows something is happening. Redness still remains in both places but is fading slowly. Redness on the hairline is fading faster than beard area.

Back of my head looks completely normal now, can't tell I've had anything done at all.

I believe this is now the 3 month mark. Had it done 28th august > 28th November. Nothing to report really, this growth starts weeks ago and this is it now. I see I still have some redness, which looks worse on the pics than in real. Beard growth seems to be a bit slower. I'm lucky in a way because I can cover my hairline procedure with my normal hair. I think I would have struggled if it was visible like this all this time.

I've had the occasional pimple, and they're the best kind as well, the ones that shoot out like a dart when you squeeze them. Also had the occasional really irritating pimple in the donor area but only 3 or 4 over the last couple months. Waiting game continues..
