Hi guys
Just looking for a bit of advice and opinions on this.
I'm just starting looking into the possibility of having a hair transplant down the line. however as the title says... Where do we start?
A quick Google search shows me so many clinics available but this only really tells me there website has a good SEO and may not necessarily be the best doctors.
Places like this website really help, however with so many surgeons work to look through on here, I don't know where to start and also I don't want to feel like I find someone I like but I have only viewed a drop in the ocean with so many clinics out there.
Also what is everyone's opinion on travelling? I see there are places slightly cheaper in turkey/Belgium but are there surgeons any better or worse?
Don't get me wrong at this point I would not make a decision purely based on money, however I need to realistic as I've the transplant was like a 30,000 like Wayne Rodney's then obviously it would be out of the questions.
I just want to know what I could expect to pay (yes it depends on grafs), to get ball park figure.
So if you have any advice/Exoeirence I would love to hear.
Have a great afternoon
Alex

What I'd say is, comment and ask questions on the patient posted results. Ask the doctors questions on their results, send your pictures to a few clinics you like the look of. Then you'll get an idea of how many grafts you need, what the price is roughly and then just take your time researching.

Thanks big mac.
Is there anyone who can give opinions on hair on a rough idea of how many grafts I should look to get? Thought would be good to get neutral opinions before I started contacted places.
Many thanks

People will need to see some pictures of your hair loss before they can comment on how many grafts they think you need.

Good advice from Bigmac. I'd also suggest trying to identify exactly what it is that you'd like to restore and to what degree. Look for the Norwood Hamilton hair loss chart and see where you line up on the chart. Figure out what would make you happy and then go from there. If you see examples of what you're looking for, look at the starting point of the patient and see if you are in a similar state. If are are finding trouble finding what you're looking for there may be a reason. For instance, if you are a NW6 and you're looking for a full reconstruction with a juvenile hairline, it won't happen. Try not to get too excited by the idea of hair restoration and figure out what the minimum restoration would be necessary for you to be happy.

Correct. SEO is not relevant to quality or a clinic's ability to provide quality results.

A general inquiry about your preferences, hair characteristics, and the amount of density is important when assessing the probability of any Belgian clinic delivering results to your expectations.

Traveling is appropriate if you want results based on your characteristics and are considering cost as a major determinant in making any decision. Take your time.

Surgery is only a good idea if you understand that your hair loss may progress well into the future. The purpose of surgery is only to produce the appearance of coverage, and your donor resources are finite so develop a treatment plan and consider maximal medical therapy as a solution.

All the best

I think the most basic starting point involves thoroughly researching the solutions you are considering. As bigmac and others pointed out, the first solution that you see on google probably isn't always the best one. You've got to pay attention to quality, customer reviews and ratings, and to the manner in which that company treats their clients.

For some the best solution might be a hair transplant but I wanted to give wigs a try first. I am simply a little queasy when it comes to operations, so if anyone has information that could possibly sway me over to hair transplants - feel free to drop a comment below :::C.
Anyway, I ordered some wigs online from the first vendor I saw and I paid an arm and a leg for it (some of these wigs can be super pricey). At the end of the day, I wasn't satisfied with the product and their customer service isn't even worth talking about.

Luckily, I kept searching and scouring through web pages till I found Godiva's YouTube page which led me to order a couple of monofilament wigs from their site. This might sound like an impulse buy, but I was really blown away by how informative those videos were and it felt like someone actually cared about my hair loss.

They were super helpful and their wigs were really high quality. Which just goes to show that you have to dedicate a good amount of time in researching a product or a service before you commit to it. I believe that the same lesson should be applied when you go in for a hair transplant, a wig or any other hair loss solution. I think that this is the best approach for you to take almoore1 (and anyone else who might be reading this). Take your time and sift through every solution and product thrown at you so you know which will best fit your needs. ;)

I can say that before to do something you should know about your disease and read https://illnessee.com/ for example. It's not the only way but I think it can be useful.
