Hypopigmented Strip Scars - FUE or SMP?

I have Hypopigmented scars from two hair transplants performed a decade ago. My hair has thinned over the years, to the extent that the scars are now visible, even with longer hair. The scars are slightly raised in areas too.
I`m not sure on which approach would provide the best result. What do you all recommend?

How wide is the scar? How long/short do you keep your hair? Both options can work well on their own or together.
If you have donor hair available, I would try FUE first. Maybe use body hair from your beard area. Then add soime SMP later if required.

This is just my choice if I were you, its always best to have a few consultations with clinics to get their professional opinion.

Wishing you luck, hope you can get it resolved.

Have you considered having the scar excised out? Any pictures?

The scar is approximately 6 inches long, in some places it stretched more. Do you know how much clinics charge for doing a scar revision by itself?

Scars don't typically stretch in length but rather in width so if you have an idea of how wide the scar is, that would help. Pictures would be better.

If a clinic were to do a revision only they would probably charge 2K to 3K just to cover the costs of opening the clinic for the day. Revisions (completely or partial removal) can work really well but they can also wind up backfiring and making the situation worse so you really have to go in with your eyes open if you go for a revision.

Several clinics have had success using FUE to transplant beard hairs into donor scars and this can be a really good option as well. Some SMP afterward can be considered to add density if necessary but proceed with caution with this as well as a test patch is usually the best way to see how it will work longer term.
