Watching him win the PDC world title on sky over the weekend got me thinking about how we all respond differently (mentally) to hair loss. The guy is only in his twenties and totally bald but you'd be hard-pressed to find a more (at least outwardly) cocky, confident bloke.

I'm sure the increasing millions in the bank make it easier to bear, but you just get the impression that it's not something that bothers him at all. Of course not everyone has this in-built confidence, but hopefully someone high-profile like him - happily married and at the top of his profession with thousands of fans chanting his name can help show those young men for whom a hair transplant perhaps isn't an option, that hair loss doesn't have to be the life-restricting barrier that it sometimes seems.

I think his millions do help.
That amount of cash would help myself.

I guess it just shows how we're all wired differently. I knew from the first moment aged eighteen that I noticed I was starting to recede that it was something I couldn't accept, and that I would eventually have to do something about it, yet I have a couple of friends who are bald and are very confident, out-going people. The kind of people who see the positives such as money saved on monthly haircuts, products etc!

Some good points raised, money doesn't always make a difference either as there's people like rooney who's minted but still hate loosing hair. I was the same as you Pete...it totally destroyed me at a young age..but my brother is bald and doesn't give it a second thought.

I agree bullit. Hair loss is a particularly cruel affliction if you're not the type who can just shrug it off and accept it.
