Hi,
I had an FUE done to my front area in march 2016 (not sure but they say they took 4000 Graft), and developed necrosis which left me with 6×3 cm scar, my scar ( second hand healing ) closed by june , started overall prp treatment 3 month later (till now i had 4, prp for all my head including my scar). i really regret not doing my research well with the clinic. now im seeking solution for my ugly scar and the more i search the more confuzed i get. i dont know if i can excised my scar and then FUE on it or whats best for me FUE or FUT coz some clinic pushing for FUT and to be honest i dont like the idea of long big scar at the back specialy that i have to do multiple ones . please advise , what my best solution?[):h::

Have you got any pictures before surgery and immediately post op surgery? Usually, Necrosis scar tissue happens in the donor area, not the recipient area. What explanation has the clinic provided? Who was the clinic?
Moving forward, you may need a scalp biopsy on that area to make sure there are no underlying reasons why this has happened. You may have developed Scarring Alopecia. Once this has been established, I think you need to find a clinic who will provide a test fue into the area to check and monitor the growth.

Have you a picture before surgery?

As for your fault, wearing something to tight can damage the grafts but I don`t believe it would cause scarring like this unless it was tight to your scalp like a bandage which I don`t think is the scenario.

I don't believe wearing a scarf as you leave a clinic after your procedure will cause necrosis. Where are you located?  Can you visit any reputable clinics for consultations?
I'm sorry to hear of your situation, it's shameful what some clinics do to their patients.

It does look like Necrosis which can be caused by a few things. I'm not familiar with clinics in Dubai, but there are a few from Turkey and Dr Arvind from India who may be able to help.

Necrosis is a result of too much compromise of the blood supply in a specific area and the blood supply is not re-established quickly enough. This causes the tissue in the immediate area to die due to a lack of blood and eventually scar tissue fills the area. Reasons why this happen can include:

1. Too much density attempted. When incisions are made too close together the damage can be too much to recover from in time.

2. Too large of a tool used to make the incisions, where density attempted (relative to the size of the tool) causes too much damage.

3. Poor initial blood supply for the density and subsequent damage created. This can happen if you are a heavy smoker since cigarettes cause blood vessel constriction.

Your scarf has nothing to do with what happened. Even if you did have poor initial blood supply due to smoking it is the clinic that should take this into consideration and modify their approach accordingly.

Was the transplanted area kept clean? If you caught an infection through touching or something else, this could possibly be the cause.
Was it 4000 grafts or hairs? I can't see 4000 grafts placed.
Have you a pre surgery picture? Before they shaved your head.
I'd like to know the name of the clinic, blaming your scarf is a weak excuse.
