The Maitland Clinic - My Experience

The Maitland Clinic

Just over four years ago, I had my first hair transplant. The procedure was performed by a well-known company with clinics worldwide. Unfortunately, for me the experience was extremely unpleasant, during and after the transplant, and not one I felt I ever wanted to repeat.

However, four and half years later, having put all that behind me I decided to take the plunge and have a further hair transplant. I researched heavily all my options, and made the decision to book in with the Maitland Clinic. Initially I was very impressed with the favourable and positive reviews I had read and so went along for a consultation with Dr Ball, This went very well, I felt confident I would be in very capable hands, with a professional who understood my requirements, but one who also gave me a realistic view of the potential results, with no false expectations.

During the procedure, Dr Ball was there throughout, extracting and transplanting the hair. During the 11 hours at the clinic, Dr Ball and his professional team did everything possible to ensure I was made to feel comfortable. The aftercare has been superb, and I really cannot fault any aspect of my experience.

A week following my transplant, I am pleased to report at this point, that I am more than happy with my recovery.

It is early days, but it will be interesting to see the progress going forward. I thought I would share a few pictures so far, and I will add more around month 3, 6, 9 and 12

Charles, that looks amazing.... they managed to transplant all those grafts without shaving the receiving area.
I'm going to forward some pictures to David at The Maitland Clinic to have my case assessed.

Hi Charles. How many grafts did you receive? Not shaving the recipient area makes such a huge difference to recovery. No one would guess from the photos taken a week later that you'd had a HT. I had a similar no-shave procedure with The Maitland Clinic in October and am just starting to see some results. Most of the grafts were to the crown, so growth is likely to be slower anyway. Best of luck with your growth!

Thanks so much for posting about your experience at The Maitland Clinic. It's our pleasure to work with you.

You look like you've healed up well at 7 days post op. I'm sure you're happy to be over the swelling phase. The pics are great.

Here is the graft total and breakdown:

It looks like nice, clean work. How is the whole area looking 2 1/2 weeks after surgery?

It has been 30 days post-op so I thought I would post a few more picture of how everything is coming on.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Congratulations dude on your recent op with the Maitland Clinic. Looking at your pictures the work looks exceptional as always from the team at Maitland and as the others have said by choosing to not shave down nobody will be any wiser about you having any surgery now things have healed.
Looking at your latest pictures at 30 days i would say everything looks as it should and you look to have healed well and the donor looks good.
I know how it feels when you are disappointed with your first HT from a different clinic but trust me pal it feels amazing when you get the results you should have gotten in the first place by going to a class surgeon.
I look forward to following your progress.....thanks for sharing and updating ;)

Looking at your recent pictures I would think they were before surgery. You seem to have healed quickly.
Have you much redness in the recipient area?

Always a plus for post op recovery if you don't need to shave down. Your pictures look great.
Looking forward to seeing 60 day mark.
