I've never done a product review before but I saw an opportunity to do one a bit different from what most people have probably seen. I'll spare you the descriptives. Check it out!

Interesting and nice work, in particular with the external overhead view. I never realised that even with your amount of hair how certain concealors can look powdery outside.
Its not nice when I see other men/women in public with this powdery look so I hope your video is helpful to those. I think some people are not using the appropriate hairspray to lock in the concealors and/or they can't get the right colour match.
I agree the dermatch looks best. How about a swimming or wet hair test next?

Hi Coopman,

I think the powdery appearance is on the concealers that are on top of the hair as well as on the scalp surface, like the spray and I feel it is easy to overdo it a bit with the spray and the fibers. With practice, both most likely can be used in more restrained amounts to get a cosmetic benefit. Hairspray and color points? Both can be issues, for sure.

I don't have a pool nearby to make a test like swimming realistic. I have camera gear to lug back and forth and the washings etc. It would take all day. If I can get some help, maybe, but that won't be for a while. Thanks for the suggestion, though and thank you for your comments.

I agree dermatch is very effective. Take care in the rain though - I learned from bitter experience it's not quite as waterproof as it claims!

Couvré is very good for eliminating the contrast between hair and scalp as well as giving slight thickening to the hair. As you say though Joe, it's a messy job applying it!

You had issues with it in the rain? That's good information to know. Honestly, I'm glad I don't use these products on a regular basis because I don't need the agony of adding anything else to my daily life routine:)

Nice review Joe bringing your favourite mix of hair and technology together I can see you are enjoying making these videos. I have tried couvre after my surgery in 2006 when I had lots of shock loss around the scar. I use Nanogen fibres now and again in the crown and provided you don't cake it on it looks good.
Keep the educational videos coming.

PS- Time for a shave or move to East Hastings Street ;)

It's quite a funny story but certainly wasn't at the time! About ten years ago I walked round to my brother's house one evening (about a one mile walk). It was snowing heavily, and I had just applied the dermatch. As I approached his house, a group of kids were having a snowball fight. As I walked past them they all stopped and stared. I thought it a bit strange but was just relieved to not get pelted with a snowball. When my brother answered the door he looked at me in horror and told me I had dark brown smears running down all over my face. His girlfriend was in the lounge, and I thank my lucky stars that he answered the door and not her!
I'm not trying to put anyone off dermatch as in normal conditions it's great, just something for people to consider if they're going to be exposed to the elements.
