In order to repair a poorly-executed transplant performed by another surgeon, this  41-year-old man underwent a combination of two approaches with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley: 1) a follicular unit extraction FUE session in which a total of 2483 grafts (from both scalp and beard) were placed followed by a skin micro pigmentation SMP procedure to the donor area.

His hair follicles were incubated in autologous (his own) platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure.  This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution[has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs.

Rather than a larger FUE punch used by a robotic approach, Dr. Wesley used a smaller caliber hand-held motorized punch to performed the donor harvest.  This approach better enabled the capture of donor hair roots that are slightly curved beneath the skin surface.  Upon completion of the harvest, the patient’s donor area was treated with PRP and ACell in order to not only minimize scar tissue formation, but also encourage partial regeneration of donor hair follicles.

The patient returned 16 Months after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.

Wow that is awful i agree. The improvement for this gentleman is night and day.
Both the recipient area and the donor look much improved. The new hairline looks super natural now, he must be so relieved and thrilled to get some resolve from his previous nightmare.
I appreciate the scaring in the donor is still slightly visible, but lets be realistic his donor was in a very bad way and the improvement you have given him is 1000 times better.
Great work as always¬b`

Thank you all for the positive comments. This patient's original scar was a major issue for this patient who likes to wear his hair short. He is much happier now!!!!

What did he look like with just the FUE placed into the scar? It would be beneficial to see the difference before the SMP was added.

How many grafts were transplanted to repair the scar and how many for the scalp? Plus a breakdown between body and scalp grafts.

His result looks awesome, such a transformation. Excellent work.

Did Dr Wesley's clinic do the SMP I didn't know they offered this treatment?
