FUE or not - Will my hair let me?

Hi all, I am very new to the HT scene. I am 36 years old and have been receding since my early teens. Recently I have resulted in shaving my heard to hide the baldness.
A friend of mine had FUE done a few years back in Turkey and his results are great. Since speaking to him I have started looking into the possibility of having FUE treatment myself. Luckily I stumbled across this great forum, so thank you to all who contribute.
Whilst Im not 100% sure yet of having the treatment I have completed a couple of online consultations with mixed responses. One offering a price and treatment plan immediately, one saying they don't think FUE will work as future hair loss may be a problem and unsure of donor area being strong enough, so would need a face to face meeting and a couple of others who haven't replied yet, it was only completed the beginning of last week.(Mix of Turkey, Belgium and London clinics contacted)
As it stands I have to consider the possibility that FUE may not be a possibility for me, I will have to have a face to face appointment for a full examination but I was wondering if any anyone else has been told this before and what alternatives there are?
Many thanks all.

I say this all the time but pics can never really tell the full story. A face to face consult is the only truly accurate way to gauge hair quality/quantity.

I strongly recommend arranging a consult with a reputable clinic. Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

During a consultation, you should provide your family history of hair loss, medical history, and concerns and expectations. With this information, your consultation should enable your awareness about the progressive nature of hair loss. A good FUE surgeon can perform the surgery to yield natural-looking results. A conservative procedure and appropriate density can accomplish a positive change. Research and investigate the results that most please you and compare the details to your case.

Thanks for the replies and yes I will be seeking a face to face consultation to gain a greater understanding of my options. I suppose tats the easy part, it will then be time to decide which clinic to use. Now thats the hard part!

Of course, this is only general information and not your case. Which technique can depend on many factors from hair loss stage now, potential future loss pattern and the quality of the donor area. Whilst the donor zone is much wider than with FUT that does not always mean more grafts can be safely extracted.

One factor with FUE is that the donor hair density reduces after every procedure. Although the safe % that can be removed may differ from Clinic to Clinic there will come a point the donor will be visibly thinner, moth-eaten if too much is removed.

That % will be largely dictated by the hair characteristics, follicular unit hair density around the donor, bearing in mind it changes from the sides to the back, miniaturisation and the average number of hairs per follicular unit, again changing between the sides and back.

Take your time to decide what you want and who to go with, that's if you go down the HT route.
