My FUE with Dr Rahal - 2502 Grafts

Anybody who has been on these forums for a long time might remember me. I was associated with Dr Rahal for many years as a patient and as a consultant. My procedure with Dr Rahal was in February 2013 and I had 2502 grafts in an FUE procedure.

Here is my initial post detailing my experience. There are more photos at this link.

The next morning (more at link):

I experienced very quick growth, as I guessed I would as my hair (and nails) have always grown very fast. I had worn a hat for the first three months but even that was longer than necessary.

I took some more at six months (with product):

At the time I had a lot (and I mean a lot) on my plate with regard to my personal life. I stopped working for Dr Rahal and dropped out of the forums. I know a lot of people at the time wondered where I went and I can't stress enough just how happy I am to answer questions. I'm not shy and you won't offend me. :)

Since that time, my life has improved dramatically. I now have a soon-to-be fiancé (shhh, she doesn't know yet!) and a young son who is currently 13 weeks old.

I've been keen to get back on the scene, so here I am and here are some photos I've taken recently.

Hi Matt.
Nice to hear back from you. Your hair is looking good, very natural.I did wonder where you went but good to see everything is ok.
Congratulations on the birth of your son, he looks a healthy little chap.
Are you still on the meds? Or did you stop using them to conceive?

Thanks guys, it means a lot. I don't worry at all about my hair anymore - except when it gets longer, as my fine, straight hair just doesn't look good unless it's kept short. Got a few greys that bug me though lol

I stopped taking Finasteride some years back. I realised after stopping that I had been getting side effects. I would say that I've noticed no increased loss in close to ten years. I'm lucky.

Welcome back to the land of the forums! Congrats on your son and upcoming engagement! Nice that you don't have to worry about your hair any more. It's looking great.
Too bad you missed the meet up last weekend in London, would have been nice to meet you in person.

Wow, those pictures look amazing. The pictures with your hair cut very short, with no product are at 3 months?

Thanks, heardme. I'm not sure which photo you mean.

Thanks Janna. I wasn't aware of the meet up. Definitely interested in any future events like that.

Oh, I realised they aren't marked with a date. They are from 4 months post op.

A lot of growth had happened by month 3. The growth timescale differs from person to person. I would say I had seen, by month 6, what some patients might have to wait several months longer for. I put this down to how my hair grows very fast in general.

That's a great result. You must be very happy.

Are you taking biotin and/or msm?

That is awesome for four months!
I'm just shy of 3 months in myself and I've already seen a significant amount of growth. Hoping I'll see similar growth to yours in the coming month!

That's good to hear you`re not seeing any hair loss after stopping Finasteride. Do you take any type of supplement?
Also, what side effects did you realise you were having after you quit?
