Hi all
I'm new here but thought I'd make my first post.I will have a DHI unshaven treatment in July.According to information I have found on this site I should get around 900 - 1200 grafts (1900 - 2600 hairs approx) from my mega session. Hope this is true.
I will keep you updated with before and after pictures nearer the time.
Laters ;)

Welcome to the forum. What hair loss stage are you at? The doctor will determine how many grafts you require, you can't go by other results alone.

Hi,
Not sure I even fall under the Norwood scale. My hair receded only slightly at the temples from age 16 to 20 and thinned at the crown from age 20 to 24 approx. The balding area of my crown is 8cm sq'd x 4cm sq'd.I've attached s photo. ˜º

Your crown looks to be quite a large area, I think you will need about 1500 grafts to make a good difference to it.
If you're only 24, I'd say you're going to lose more hair, therefor you need to stop the loss with the help of Finasteride. It's the best option to help your crown out. It can cause certain side effects, this is something you will need to discuss with a doctor before proceeding. If you don't stop the loss, you could be having multiple transplants replacing the hair you continue to lose with not much of a cosmetic difference.
Hope that helps.

Hi Bigmac
The photo actually makes it look worse because of the angle. I'm actually late 30s now and have been taking Finasteride for 17 years. The areas affected pretty much haven't changed in that time. Having been to a consultant, they told me that they were surprised how small the thinning area at the crown was. I Will see if I can take a beeter picture of the affected area.

Good to hear you're on Finasteride. Any sides at all?
The patient result you posted looks good, especially for the amount of grafts he received. Maybe you will only need a similar number to achieve a good result.

Hi Bigmac
No luckily I've had no side effects at all from taking it.
Yes hopefully I can get similar results to that patient.

Welcome to the forum dude, good to hear you've been taking Finasteride for 17 years and stabilized your loss with it. Did you get any regrowth at all in the beginning from the Finasteride or has it just helped with maintaining like it has for me?
I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery and hope you will share it with us all.
Out of curiosity which DHI clinic are you planning on using (not that it matters just curious pal)?

Hi Bullitnut.Thanks
Yeah the Finasteride just helped to stabilise my hair. My hair loss was never particularly rapid but since taking Finasteride there has been very little change in my hair loss in 17 years.Yes I'll keep u posted on my progress.I will PM you the DHI clinic that I will use. Thanks again

Hi Ady. To be honest I don't think I had any regrowth with Finasteride. It definitely stopped or slowed it down as my hairline hasn't changed in the last 17 years.

Couple of years on it for me. Had an issue with some light headness in the first few weeks which gradually subsided. otherwise, I don't think I have any issues with it.
