UK hair transplant

Short version of my story:
Starting receding at 17, went back at the temples, now at 32 i have noticed slightly more thinning in the centre, so probably N3.People have started to notice, sent pictures for one consultation who advised approx 2500 grafts.I will be getting more consultations but I do want it done in the UK.I have researched and feel I want to do this more than ever, so I spoke to the wife who said she never even noticed, I explained it all and the costs and she is happy for me to do it, this probably one of the hardest steps, actually opening up about it.
So, i have been active on another forum where UK clinics seem to get an absolute hammering and everyone is advised to go to Turkey or Belgium, I haven't made the decision to avoid this, but UK clinics can't be that bad? So that's where I need advice to see if that is the case or is it people ramping up business? If UK is good enough, which clinics? So far I have looked at DHI London, and HTSclinics as there is one in Chester (not far from me)I will upload pics soon. Thanks all.

Hi Emvee,
I'd agree years ago there were several clinics in UK who turned out horrible results. I know first hand because I used to work at Shapiro Medical in the US and we had loads of UK repair patients. I'd check out Farjo's clinic in Manchester as well as The Maitland Clinic. I think you'll be pleased at the quality of the results produced. Speak to past patients for all the clinics you consult with.
Good luck!

Hi and welcome.
Check out the results on this forum, there are quite a few UK clinics posting results. Send them an email and see what they say.
Never let distance be a factor in choosing a clinic that's right for you. Some patients will travel around the world for the right clinic that suits their needs.

Appreciate the reply, the travelling isn't an issue for me, it's doing this and getting what I want and having my wife supporting me, and should something not be right, then it's not to much travelling to get sorted......if that makes sense?

I agree with BM and Janna, don't believe everything you read about the UK dude. These days clinics like the Maitland clinic and Farjo and some others who post on here are up there with the best in my opinion. I would certainly trust my head with them.
Welcome to the forum by the way;)

Cheers, i have sent pics to a couple of clinics, just waiting for replies.
My advice to people is if you're worried about what the wife will say, then don't worry and talk about it.
However I don't understand women, she was annoyed when I purchased a set of alloy wheels, but she is happy with the cost of this

She must know just how much it means to you dude...its awesome when you have such a supportive partner. I personally think though that most partners who know just how much it means to someone will understand and be supportive, i was afraid to talk about how much hairloss affected me to my partner at first but when i did she was 100 percent supportive with everything.

I agree with what Bullitnut says. The wheels are nice to have but no big deal if you never got them, whereas your hair is very important to most people.

Would be awesome if you could post a few pics dude, i understand if you don't want to(although there are a few programs that can block the face if you want to stay anonymous) just so we can get a little better of an idea of what your current situation is.

Totally understand if your not comfortable doing so pal.
Regards BN;)

Hi Emvee. Most of the Farjo clinic are at the ISHRS conference right now which may be why you've not heard back in their usual timely manner. It will be sheer numbers of emails to reply to. Rather than a generic reply they will send a detailed one which is what you want.
You can always message Pete from Farjo on here directly.

Had a good conversation with Mick, plenty of advice, however we worked out that the no response to emails is a technical issue.
Thanks for the help and advice so far.
