There are two primary methods of doing FUT surgery today.:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The traditional \u201cStrip\u201d Follicular Unit Transplant (\u201cStrip\u201d FUT)<\/strong> method where donor hair is removed from the donor area in a single strip and later subdivided into grafts under a microscope.<\/li>\n
  2. The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method <\/strong>where each graft is extracted individually from the donor area by a micro punch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The major difference between these techniques is the method of donor harvesting with the rest of the procedure being primarily the same.<\/p>\n

    At SMG we are experts at both techniques. We attempt to chose the technique that is best for the patient based on his unique situation. Clinics that can only perform one technique may tend to push a patient toward the \u201csingle\u201d technique they perform; whether it is best for the patient or not.<\/p>\n

    Scalp Tricho Pigmentation (STP) <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \"smp<\/a>Scalp Tricho Pigmentation (STP) also is a medical tattoo process that recreates an appearance of naturally growing hair for people who are balding or have thinning hair. It is similar in principle to SMP (Scalp Micro pigmentation) but there are very critical difference in the technique that were developed in order to address the specific properties of scalp hair. The goal is to exactly replicate the appearance of shaved hair follicles or stubble of hair. It can be used to create a shaved look, thicken thinning hair, or camouflage scars.<\/p>\n

    Hair Loss Treatment Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    There are currently three FDA-approved medical treatments for hair loss, Minoxidil (Rogaine\u00ae) and Finasteride (Propecia\u00ae), and Low Level Light Therapy. Dutesteride (Avodart\u00ae), is similar to Finesteride but has not been officially approved by the FDA for hair loss. In addition to the above, recently there has been a lot of interest in more controversial, less proven, adjunctive therapies such as Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP) & ACELL matrix therapy<\/p>\n
