Dense packing the Hairline and beyond

I'd like to know what your thoughts on dense packing and the new numbers being quoted. It has been long established that 50 follicular units per square centimeter were a good number to create a dense looking hairline. However, the past years I`m noticing more clinics are quoting higher numbers of 60 - 70 FU`s per square centimeter.

If donor supply permitting, is it a good idea to go for the higher density? Or will the blood supply and survival rates of grafts be drastically affected?

I`ve been advised my hair is in the region of 80 - 90 FU`s per square centimeter. If I were to have my hairline transplanted at 50 FU`s would it look noticeably thinner than my existing hair? I don`t want a thinning look that stands out.

Density may be too much going above 55. Blood flow to the grafts may be a problem resulting in lower graft survival.
Best option to stick to lower and add later if you want

Emma. Thanks for your opinion. It does make sense, however, I think the advances being made should enable a higher graft per cm. Quite a few clinics offer PRP with surgery which boosts the blood flow in the recipient area.
