I'm somewhat confused by some of the statements made in this video. The hairline didn't need softening as much as it needed density. Semantics, in this case, I know but I feel clarity is necessary to avoid confusion for newbies. I do understand how "softening" occurs with single hair grafts, but it kind of goes hand in hand.
Second, how does one adjust the angles of existing hairs with new hairs? The only way I'm aware of is to remove the grafts, let the area heal, then go back in to place the hairs in the proper angle and direction. Camouflaging might have been a better term as that is what ultimately happened by filling in the gaps, with the proper angulation but the original grafts are still exactly where they were, with the same bad angles and directions.
I think that the FUE into scar was't necessary as the patient's scar was already quite good and with the hair styles in his videos after this procedure, it didn't make a cosmetic difference. I do see that overall the placement was a success and made the scar more difficult to detect in the patient's own post-operative video series on Youtube, so there is a benefit. It would have been nice to see a shorter haircut that would be allowed by the success of the growth.
