We are pleased to share the results of our patient who had a FUE hair transplant surgery with Dr Edward Ball at The Maitland Clinic. This case involved restoring density to the hair line and frontal third of the scalp.

Patient background
The patient came to us with a history of male pattern hair loss and had already been using topical finasteride and minoxidil for a few months at the time of their initial consultation. Otherwise fit and well, they were looking to restore their hairline in a way that would blend seamlessly with their existing hair.

Surgery details
Surgery performed:
February 2024
Number of grafts: 1826 (focusing on the frontal third and hairline)
Surgical technique: Excellent quality grafts, with a high number of 3s- and 4-hair follicular units
Graft placement: The patient’s soft skin allowed for easy graft placement, resulting in a very natural and soft finish to the hairline.

At the 1-year review, the patient reported being extremely pleased with the results and noted that most of the thickening occurred after the 6-month mark. The transplanted hair felt just like their natural hair from the start and the procedure has played a major role in restoring not only their hairline but also their confidence! They have stayed consistent with their daily topical medication and continue to use the Theradome device 2 to 3 times per week.

This is a wonderful example of how thoughtful surgical planning, high-quality grafts and consistent post-op care can deliver a result that looks and feels completely natural.

A huge thank you to our patient for returning to our Hampshire clinic for review and for allowing us to share their anonymised photos and I hope this case study resonates with other patients who might be in a similar situation.

Wishing everyone a wonderful bank holiday weekend!
