2% Nizoral in the UK

I've just watched a YouTube video ("Nizoral Shampoo For Hair Loss - THE TRUTH"), which recommends 2% Nizoral, rather than the 1% variety, which is apparently standard. I have been using Nizoral in the UK, but am not sure if it's the recommended 2% variety. In the UK, all it says on the bottle/packaging is Nizoral - Ketoconazole 20mg/g, and I buy it in 100ml bottles for greater economy. Is the the right stuff? Any recommendations on where to get it at 2% in the UK for a good price?

I could be wrong but I think this is a little over thinking it. I would say just the normal nizoral sold in the UK should be fine for what it is.

It doesn’t really help combat hairloss anyway it’s more just to keep the scalp clean. I don’t think any shampoo really helps that much as it’s not on your head long enough

The guy in the video (google "Nizoral Shampoo For Hair Loss - THE TRUTH") references studies which suggest that the 2% variety is more effective. He also points out that it should remain on the head for between 5 to 10 minutes to be effective. I'd previously been rinsing it off my head quickly when having a shower, but now make sure I have a bath on the days when I use it, which means it's easy to wait the necessary time. I think that the use of Ketoconazole (which is in Nizoral) is in quite good standing as a hair loss remedy, especially for people, like me, who have issues with scalp inflammation.

I think it might be working for some people not for everyone depending upon the nature of hair loss.

Alas upon my recent attempts to buy Nizoral 2%, it is now only available on prescription.

I believe the product has sold out in UK stores. They are waiting for new stock I think. You could use other shampoo that contains the same concentration of ketoconazole

It's on the HPRA (Irish Health Products Regulatory Authority) list of withdrawn products, along with KETOZOL 2% w/w Dandruff Shampoo Rowex Ltd.

Local chemist and I'm in UK told me pretty much the same. Available on ebay for a premium and some online chemist still showing over priced stock.

Although it's not meant for regular use, due to the possible side effects
