Our client´s hair loss pattern was not the traditional male pattern baldness as seen in the Norwood scale. Instead, he had maintained his hairline with only minor thinning. But behind his hairline and over the central to crown area his hair had miniaturised and largely fallen out to expose the scalp. The goal was to increase his hair coverage and density over this area of hair loss, but leave his hairline untouched as perfectly natural.

His donor hair, around the sides, his hair density was lower than average. Overall he had very good skin laxity. As a result it was decided in his best interests not to harvest hair from the sides at this stage of his hair restoration. As his laxity was good it was possible to remove a strip with the FUT technique concentrated around the back of the donor so as to leave the sides mainly untouched. The benefit to this is leaving wide virgin scalp areas and minimise any changes to his donor area. This allowed him to achieve total hair coverage over the effected area and good options if he ever needs future hair restoration.
