On 28/8/24 I am having a h/t of approx 3000 graft with Dr Gur. Density and making the hairline look less receeded are the primary goals. This is my 2nd transplant, I previously had FUT with Dr Glenn Charles in Boca Raton in approx 2012. That was satisfactory, I'm hoping to be happier with this one. I'm not very good at these things so I have asked a friend who does a few pieces for the local rag (the metro) who will give me links to he's article to follow my progress.

All the best with your surgery in a few days. It would be great if you document here.

So I had my 2nd surgery on 28/8/24 'with Dr Gur' and here are my facts, thought, opinions and response:

I'm met at hotel and we walk to the clinic 3 minutes away, I sit and fill out some forms. Dr Gur pops in, we do the trichoscope on my hair quality and he then draws the hairline. Now this next point was without a doubt my biggest dissapointment in the whole process. At the begining of the consultation before the deposit, flight bookings I expressed my desire that my hair line be brough forward by about 1cm and that that was the most important aspect for me, then add any desnity to the rest of my hair after that. Because as most of you know, it's easier to conceal/camoulflage the top/back than it is the front. When he had drawn the same hairline as I already I had I reminded him that i wanted it brought forward by a cm. (It wasnt like I was bald ontop afterall). He was dismissive saying it would give me a fuller head of hair. Yes, but that was not my primary concern, and not why I booked. Considering I was there, had payed deposit and flights and was gonna get 70% of what i thought i was getting I reluctently agreed. (Extra pics and video of my hairline were submitted prior). Money is then exchanged Dr Gur disapears, I get my hair cut and go to the extraction process. MY GOD!! I do not remember the anesthetic injections being this painful!! (or having so many). After an hour or so lunch follows, and then the channel incisions are made by Dr Gur (45minutes ish?) then he disapears. Next the implantation of graft. An extremly frustration few hours ensue. The 'block' they make you put your neck on may aswell be a stone. (another patient at hotel also found this raised he's fcked off level too). I honestly can't believe they can't find another way, certainly did'nt have this stress inducing problem in my 1st h/t. Alas all finished by 6pm. 2850ish grafts, no real issue's other than a little blood under the skin. Given anti biotics and painkillers and walked back to hotel. Although it was only a 3 minute walk, given the amount of 'caution' given about standing up at the clinic i thought i'd have been driven or wheelchaired? next day i'm met ad taken for 1st wash and medication talk. The following day I flew home.

Would I have surgery 'with Dr Gur' again? No. The surgery seems fine, but I don't like that what I thought I was having was changed last second (I wouldnt have booked otherwise because it may have only been 30% of the surgery i wanted, but it was the most important part). I am also supprised he did'nt (even for 5 minutes) pop in during the extraction or implantation to check everything. Yes i've payed basic and somebody payed vip, but you really can't spare a few minutes to check in!? I don't know who any of the assistants are, I did'nt make a booking because of their name. Other than the incisions I might aswell have got it cheaper at a 'hair mill'. Given 3/4 days worth of painkillers which i thought was a bit tight. At no point am I saying it was a bad hair transplant, it seems fine and wont really know until 8 months in tbh. The staff were nice, hotel staff were really really good). I do feel the hairline decision was to suit Dr Gur. Because I already had hair were he implanted more hair, therefore It can only look even better, but if he brought my hairline forward slightly he runs a lot more risk because there is no hair there already. Anyway take from this what you will, but i'm not intrested in any arguements. (also here are a couple more pics pre op ics and a post op. Did i need 3000 grafts where i had hair or should I have had half used bringing forward my hairline like i wanted?)

I will also add there was a 25 yr old patient who had surgery by Dr Gur, and this patient had'nt been on finasteride or minoxadil, which i found a bit concerning.
