5000 Grafts Dr Erdogan ASMED Turkey in 2020. Overharvested Donor, looking for options

Hi fellas, i went for a HT during the pandemic mid 2020 and since i already had a thin donor area, opted to go to a clinic with a good rep. Dr Erdogan suggested to go for 5k grafts in two sessions back to back. Its been 5 years and with fin and later oral min that i started to take before the surgery the hair loss pretty much stalled. I wasnt happy with the result though so I contacted the Dr after a year and he suggested me that i have another 2k grafts that could be taken careflully by his team to give more density with a more satisfying result for me but declined cause i was thinking the donor is too overharvested already. Was suggested by another clinic to use 500-1000 grafts to fill hair line and mix with beard grafts to thicken top of head (I have attached before/after pic, sorry bout the dandruff, working on that). Opinions?

Sorry for your situation, you made a good decision to decline a further 2000 grafts being removed. Glad to hear the meds and stabilising your hair growth, how old are you now? Do you have a graft and hair count from your two procedures, and pictures of your graft placement after each procedure. You mentioned the sessions were back-to-back, is this literal or how many months between each was there. What are you looking to achieve now? Are you considering another hair transplant, just smaller than 2000, or other options.

They did the 5000 grafts in the same week. I want more density so im looking for options. Since my Donor looks very over harvested especially when my hair is short, im looking for an option to maybe mix beard hair with only some grafts from my donor area to give me a more dense look especially at my hair line. Any Suggestions?

 

[Understanding Hair]

Beard hair, or body hair in general is a good option for you to consider as it works best as a filler rather than standalone hair growth. As long as the characteristics are close enough to you scalp hair and it´s safe to place between your existing hair. If the body hair is placed behind your current hairline it should be fine, but BH rarely looks natural along the very immediate front. BH is mainly single hair units so would need a lot to cover a decent area to gain a good aesthetic impact.

Another option, albeit not hair, is scalp pigmentation. As you have a full hair coverage adding pigment between your hair will help to block the skin complexion and make your hair appear fuller. You would need to be careful around your hairline so discuss with a technician that has a record of treating long hair.
