The transplanted area looks nice and clean. Some grafts are difficult to see in your mid section but I can just about make them out. Your grafts were spread out over a larger area than the frontal half you mention in your opening sentence. See image below which I`ve roughly made a line for frontal half. The frontal half may be the last blue marking behind my red line or somewhere between. The picture makes it a little difficult to be accurate.

Grafts were placed in the crown area.
Looking at your pre-op pictures with shorter hair it looks as though you may have some diffuse thinning going on throughout your scalp which is why grafts were spread out more.
Your donor hair just above your ears looks a little bit like possible retrograde alopecia - donor thinning. The clinic I trust examined this area to see if it were safe to extract from, if grafts were harvested from there.
A donor extraction picture would be helpful if you have one at hand.
As your hair is now, I`d say you would need another HT to add the required density if the pictures show the true density. Your hairline is fuller/complete bridging the gaps to your temples. All you can do now is wait until 12 months to see if further improvements happen.
Being on Finasteride over 2 years will hopefully have stabilised your loss and possibly improved your hair. Did the clinic mention the quality of your donor?
