I am thinking of having some beard grafts transplanted to my crown and really like the work of @Dr Bonaros in Glasgow and from my discussions with him, I know he performs all aspects of the surgery himself. He seems like a very ethical doctor from my conversations with him. I was going to have surgery this year, but am probably going to wait as house extensions are not cheap!!
I would recommend contacting him and other surgeons from this website and see who you get a good feel for and whose work you like.

Just had my first haircut with a trimmer as opposed to scissor cut only, a truer idea of my donor area.
I’m a little bit concerned now, as I am uncertain if my donor is even viable for a repair hair transplant to fix the front?

I think you should send these pictures to surgeons @RPB95 to get there opinion about how many grafts they think they can extract.
On a positive note, I had shock loss in my donor that seemed to last for around a year after my first HT, but not the others, and I was really worried about it, but it was fine. However, it was only in a much smaller area than this.
Have you decided which surgeon you are going to get to do this repair? With only a finite number of grafts, I think it’s really important to get the right surgeon and one who has experience of repairs would be an excellent choice.

I’d say you still have enough donor left to have another surgery. The left side/back looks thinner than the right. Do you have pictures with a side on view to show the donor there?
Quite a few people, myself included are not able to have a buzz cut on the back and sides because of our surgery. We have to keep the hair at a certain length to conceal the missing hair.

Update, I had a call with a member of the clinic, advised to wait it out till 10 months for an in person review, also suggested by the clinic to use oral minoxidil, I have said in response this isn’t something I would like to involve at this stage, given that minoxidil could induces a shed, and potential make it harder to track the progress of the transplant. I have also highlighted my post op photos, which from my eyes shows the potential lack of grafts, which could be causing the pluggy/ thin appearance of my transplant?
What are your guys's view of this, feedback is most appreciated.

The areas you’ve marked out do appear to be thinner. It’s a fair point you make about the oral minoxidil. For now, all you can do is wait and hope there is more growth. When you have your review, you can talk about the options available to you.

Minoxidil. I was never keen on taking oral minoxidil either, as my blood pressure is around 100/61, which is fine, but taking this could give me low blood pressure, as my diastolic reading is already pretty low. There are quite a few side effects, especially when taken orally.
Have you shown this picture to the clinic? If so, I wonder what they said. They do look spaced out for sure the front of the hairline. I have seen some post op pics where the front two rows a implanted much closer together to give the illusion of density when grown out.

I have shown the highlighted photo, they made no comment on this, and switched to conversation about oral minoxidil, will see what they see at 10 month review, but given there is not as many grafts in the hairline, I’m right in assuming oral minoxidil won’t grow what wasn’t implanted?

Coming up 10 months, some improvement since last time, still not 100% happy with the hairline, but maybe my expectations were too high, overall it’s still a big improvement from my starting point, however I also realise I badly need a second transplant for the crown, which I think I might as well get more grafts added to the front at the same time.
On that topic how many grafts do you think will be needed for the crown? And how is my donor looking, this is about a month and a half’s growth or so since cut to a 6mm length.

Front needs a small amount say 500 grafts, crown probably 1000-1500 grafts.
I was booked with Dr Saifi as I saw you mentioned him before but ended up going with Dr Michalis in Cyprus, if you want you can check my thread and review to see details about how he work down below, he does mostly unshaven FUE which could be good in your case and is using both microscopes to sort the grafts and his whole team is using high magnification glasses. He have lots of cases on the spanish hair transplant forum, where I researched him, but I will update my thread to have a english review here.

Where can I see more of his results from forums as you mentioned? I would like to see his female before and after but only has a few on his website

That's a before and after with over 3000 grafts.

Yeah, this is not the frontal third, but the midscalp too and as Bigmac says even some in the crown. Some have had 4500-5000 grafts placed in such an area and most often in several surgeries. So you will need another one to densify.

I had my first HT with Feriduni, similar size to yours (2,968) and the frontal third. The results were not as expected and he performed a free second surgery for 1,628 grafts. A good surgeon will stand by their work. I know they say to wait longer but realistically by 8 months 95% of hairs have popped through and it is a case of maturing after that point.
