I am wondering if I am balding? The first pictures are from October 2021. The rest are from this year. I’m 24 years old. My paternal granddad is bald. But my dad and his brother both still have hairs and so does my maternal grandad. If so any advice to try and stop it. Thanks.

My best guess is at 24 years old with presumably no medications you've just advanced from a Norwood 1 (juvenile) to Norwood 2 (mature) hairline - which isn't considered balding. It's normal.

Norwood 2 are guys like Don Draper from mad men, or ryan reynolds, stephen colbert. Its a mild recession of the hairline but everything else is left intact. Do you notice any balding elsewhere? Or does anyone else in your family have this type of loss?

if you are worried about future hair loss there are medical treatments like finasteride to stop DHT production. or minoxidil which extends the life cycle of your hair. Taking such medications however is a personal decision and it's best to discuss with your GP.

Sorry i couldnt be of more help, but it looks like a great head of hair from where im sitting.

I would say you are not even a NW1. There may be some slight thinning around your hairline which is normal as an adult. It is crazy to consider Hairtransplant at this point. Also for medication, it is too soon in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice. My crown seems fine. Just worried about my hairline. Most family members seem to have a norwood 1.5 to 2. Don’t want to hop on any drugs just yet, but I will if I need too.

No meds, no signs of balding elsewhere, family history of NW1.5-2, these are all positive things.

If it were me id only be monitoring things at this stage (which is what youre doing)
