Best Scar Solution??

Hi Guys,

I've decided I would like to shave my head but like many I have a smiley face to contend with. (Ear to Ear and Pencil Thin) but still annoying!!

I was considering Fue and Micropigmentation would hopefully allow me to pull off a .5 or #1.

Im from Ireland and was looking into having a 3000 fue procedure in Belgium but decided against it due to cost and probably the fact that I still wouldnt be content with the result.

I was considering taking a chance with Ailesbury Clinic in Ireland as Im only going for a small session of approx 250grafts to break up the consistency of the scar and let the micro pigmentation by HisHair Clinic do the rest.

I watched a few Ailesbury Videos on Youtube and did a small bit of research (much more to do 1st) Dr. Patrick Treacy commented that ‚¬2500 will get you approx 1000-1200 follicles so the price seems very reasonable. Im thinking approx ‚¬1000 should get me a session which should break up the scar. Im a little wary for the following reasons: they use a follipen?? anyone know much about these and they claim they can transplant up to 5000 grafts in a day. (Warning Bells!!!) But they have done work to Calum Best so Im thinking for the Sake of ‚¬1000 is it worth a shot? I think HisHair charge approx 300sterling for HT Scar work.

Any information on either company would be much appreciated. ;)

I`ve not heard of this clinic but that does not mean they dont provide good work. You seem a little unsure of them after your research, if i were you i would continue to research and contact the clinics offering Fue and ask if they have any cancellation slots. This way you should get a cheaper price if you can be flexible with your surgery date.

As for 5000 fue grafts in a day, this alone would make me look elsewhere.

1000Euros aint that much but you need to remember its your donor hair that is your valuable asset and you dont want to waste it.

The 1000 euros is irrelevent, the damage they could do to your head isn't, it's also irrelevent they they worked on Callum Best, Celebs don't have a clue about who to go to with regard to hair transplants, Wayne Rooney ended up in a Harley Street clinic, that says it all!

If you want a good job done on your scar then go to BHR in Brussels.

Hairhunter let me tell you a bit about the Ailesbury Clinic.

I went there about 16 months back for a consultation (Which they charged me for by the way) I met with there hair consultation specialist :whatever: and was hoping for a half decent insight into there FUE technique, I was very naive at the time and had limited basic questions to ask all i really wanted was to understand the procedure ask about downtime see some photo results and also the possibility i may be provided with a list of previous patients that would be willing to meet to view there results. Very simple stuff really.

The consultation consisted of a lady viewing the back of my head for all of 30 secounds without any instrumentation and then made the comment that i had the best donor hair she had ever seen and 5000 hairs (Yes Hairs!)would set me straight for several years. I would be done in a day and i could return to work next day no problem as it's completely undetectable. They also claim they guarantee there work and a copy of the guarantee can be submitted to solicitor should i request it! I found this very odd indeed. I asked to see some photo's of previous work and was told to check out the website this was incredibly odd as we were sitting in her office with the PC 2 feet away? I laughed and mentioned this and was told all there files are on there computers in Dublin. They also only had 1 guy on there Website (My consultation was in Cork). I was given the name of 1 guy to meet with and this is actually the chap on there Website who to me is there flagship patient and was told given the nature of the beast everybody else would rather remain anonymous. I mentioned that it was odd to be qouted in hairs and was given a bullshit story about how quoting in hairs was more honest than follicles? My belief is that they quote in hairs to back up there guarrantee basically they take 1000 single double treble follicles in the hope 1000 hairs grow? I also asked about temple points and was told they do not offer anything other than the top of the head. Very strange considering they offer to do body hair?

Following on from the consultaion I pestered them for photogrphs and was given 2 very dubious photographs of supposed patients from distance. I asked for the usual pre-op, post-op and close ups of these patients and have never recieved a reply.

About a forthnight ago i recieved an email from a lady in there office responding to my demands of 12 months previous and she told me she had attached a photo of a patient who had a procedure 4/6 months back. I opened the attachment and it was 1 of the dubious pics sent to me 14 months previous. I played along to this lady who was obviously unawares and she gave me all the details how this guy had suffered from hairloss for years but since his procedure this year his life has turned round and is delighted with his result.

Joining this forum has given me the knowledge to recognise these guys are a gimmick! Dr Patrick Treacy is a well known Dr but he will never come near my head your head or anybody else's. It may look that way when they promote themselves on Irish TV but this is a scam.

I would listen to what the guys have said already if you are considering Ailesbury then by all means go for a consultation if you are researched enough you will hear the alarm bells ringing

I perused their website amongst others .... the claims some clinics make are ludicrous, for instance i took this quote from a clinics website,

"3G FUE can implant hair in a particular direction which can €™t be done with other techniques like the Strip technique"

Don`t fall victim to unethical marketing, listen to the advice you receive from patients who`ve been there and got the badge.

Well i just googled that quote and two different clinics come up but both are the same doctor with the same advertising.

Be very careful when looking at websites as lots are full of self promotional material which paint a different picture to the truth.

Its quite laborious researching all the ins and outs, you can get to the stage where you jump in feet first but usually when this happens you will live to regret it.

Thanks Lad,

Just the closure I needed on the idea. I was very sketical myself but taught they couldnt do much harm with only 200 or so grafts but think now maybe your right I dnt need another problem to contend with, like giving my smiley face white acne!!!

Do any of ye know if any of the top clinics (Belguim) do small sessions of this nature or is there always a minimum starting point? I know Dr. Feller in the Us does "Postage Stamp Sessions" which generally consist of a small 200 or so graft session. but Id much prefer to stay in Europe.

Thanks for all the feedback lads, I've found this forum one of the most helpful websites in dealing with Hair Loss ¬b`

I`d say they all will offer you a small fue session, you have 6 clinics in Belgium to consult with, drop them an email or pm on here.
