UPDATE: This case is an update 6 months later, meaning 1 year postop.

FUE performed on our patient (34) with
• Hair loss pattern similar to Ludwig III
• Donor density of 80 FU/cm² occipital, 96 FU/cm² parietal, 92 FU/cm² temporal
• Hair diameter of ~ 59 - 66 microns

Treatment plan
Follicular Unit Extraction to attain an aesthetic reconstruction of the midhead section and crown area.

Performed procedure
FUE (August 23, 2021)
Follicular Unit Extraction with 5160 FU:
* 300 single hair FU
* 3354 double hair FU
* 1506 triple hair FU
HGI: 2,2

Parallel incisions in custom-sized blades technique (Cutting Edge blades of 0,8 - 1,0 mm).
Extraction performed by WAW-system with a 0.90 mm serrated trumpet punch.
No microscopic preparation of the follicular unit grafts.

For a such a large extraction I assume two techs or a doctor and a technician would be extracting together?
Correct, we call this the dual-extraction technique which means it’s carried out simultaneously on both sides of the donor area. This does not only allow us to get greater FU numbers but at the same, it also minimizes the out-of-body-time of the FU’s before the incisions part.
