Concerned after switching from topical to oral finasteride

I had a HT procedure about 2.5 years ago and had been on topical finasteride(0.3%)/minoxidil(6%) since. I switched over to oral finasteride (1mg) about 2.5 months ago because I'm having another HT procedure next week and my doctor said I would need to stop all topical 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after. So I figured instead of stopping the finasteride completely, I'd switch to oral.

I'm not experiencing any side effects, but the amount of hair I'm shedding is alarming. I figured I wouldn't go through the shedding phase since I'd been on topical finasteride for over 2 years, but I've shedding an alarming amount of hair for the past 3 weeks. Is this normal?

Do you have any pictures to show the volume of shedding? You should reach out to your doctor for their advice. They may postpone your surgery until your loss stabilisers.
