BN...

Thats what I thought, need some pics..

I am really thinking about this for my scars... I would like to be able to cut my hair shorter at the back without having to apply Derm daily...

Will have a little bit of a research on it and see where I get...

Failing that I will just get "MADE IN ENGLAND" on my forehead.. then no-one will notice the hair...

From someone who has had his scars tattooed I would not recommend it.

First off, the ink has turned blue, and I believe that it is the cause of my now €œpainful to touch € sections of the scar. ;ss; I did not have any pain prior to tattooing.

Be wary, just as with a HT see someone who has had this done in person before going this route.

I feel transplanting hair into the scars would be a much better option. :)

Hi JJ09.

Welcome to the forum.

It would be great if you could post a picture of your tattooed scar so we can see what it looks like.

Was it just a regular tattooist who done it or someone who specialises in this type of thing.

I too can relate to the soreness feeling with tattoos as i have them on my arms and periodicly certain parts seem to flare up and are sore to touch.

Are you now looking to have fue into your scar to try and conceal the tattoo.

Hope you can get it sorted out.

Take care bm.

Thanks Bigmac.

A cosmetic tattooist carried out the work, approximately 4 years ago and has for the most part faded now, some blotchiness remains here and there. Her artistic ability was zero, she basically coloured in. I was shown before and after pictures and they looked excellent. I would have been better off with an artistic tattooist in my opinion.

The pictures don €™t show much, really.

I need more than just repairing the scars however, but that €™s another story. ;ss;

Hi JJ09

You cant see much in the pictures, what colour was the original tattoo before it faded and changed blue.

Do you have any close ups of it.

Your hair looks quite short and the scar does not look that bad from what i can see, however i know how pictures dont always show how it really looks.

Are you happy with the HT work that you had.

Cheers bm.

My first HT procedure 18 years ago resulted in a plug look hairline and was always told, €œwe just need to back it up € so I went back for more of the same without ever being satisfied. I also had some scalp reduction done.

The only procedure I €™ve been happy with was the correction of the hairline using the FUE technique, which was carried out 6 years ago, unfortunately without much to back it up however. (Pitting is still visible in the hairline from the very first HT)

Yes my hair is short, if I grow it out it looks stringy and exacerbates the thinning area on top and front.

With all the stretching and pulling of my scalp I do consider myself to be lucky, it could have been a lot worst and yes the scars aren €™t bad. There fore, my decision to cover up with tattooing.

I €™m in need of more work! Only researching for 5 months I €™m looking forward to getting it sorted out.

Hey Tim

Yeah, when I saw this post I thought I better make comment.

I €™m not that concerned about the discolouration/fading, more so the pain, still I €™m not a 100% sure it is from the tattooing, but it €™s a good chance.

Thanks for the pics etc... sorry about the pain.

Your hair comes over as good in your photographs, I think there are plenty of options for you if you decide on getting another HT to improve things...

Would you mind letting us know what clinics / surgeons carried out your HT's..

Cheers
Tim

Dr William Pauw 1994
Dr Russel Knudsen 2001
Dr Ray Woods 2003

Dates are approximate.

I have seen some excellent work on line, I'm sure I'll be able to achieve a satisfactory outcome. :)

I will post my progress when I have any further work carried out.

Thanks JJ09 for the extra info.

How many grafts did Dr Woods do as what i`ve read online he is regarded as the best in OZ although a little expensive.

Have you had any more consults since 2003 and if so,have they said what your donor situation is like.

Be great to see you get it sorted.

Take care

bm.
