Crown growth at 1 year

Hi I had my one year review last week. Surgeon (and me) pleased with hairline but crown growth has not come through as expected. Gutted. Surgeon wants to give it another three months before more surgery. I have been on 1mg fin for 18months and just started topical regain under advice.
Surgeon wants to wait to see how that affects growth.
Thoughts?
Surgeon said that it appears grafts have come through on crown but they should be coming through as triple or quad hairs not single hairs.
I had about 2700 grafts. Any advice? Do I go elsewhere or try surgery again? I followed after care instructions and have been using nanogen shampoo and occasionally Nizoral.
What’s going on?

When you say crown do you mean the area behind your hairline and there was no grafts placed into your crown looking at the immediate post op area.Who was the surgeon?

Yes the area as indicated by post op - I suppose just in front of crown.
Surgeon was Dr Sebastian at Westminster Medical. Have been happy with post op support so far just hair growth hasn’t happened or am I being impatient?
I also had an injury to hair line back in November which is barely visible but I pulled out about 15grafts (which they will patch up)but that isn’t the problem now in my opinion.

It looks as though you were pretty bald in the frontal third. They concentrated on creating a hairline that looks decent. The density behind the hairline is thin but looks as though the coverage is even.

I can see why you are not satisfied however that is not alot of grafts for the area being covered. I previously had 4,500 covering the same area for my first two HT.

Go see the clinic for an in person appraisal. As mpb says, you had a large area covered with only 2700 grafts.
Are you happy with your frontal hairline appearance?

The main thing that while you and the surgeon might be disappointed it is how they are looking after you that is very important. The density into the mid scalp is low but it was not high from the immediate post op photo. I can see the point about some of the hairs not being multiples, that might improve so I see the purpose of waiting. It seems they are supporting you which is to their credit.

Yeah I saw him in early August and they said wait until 18 months and take topical minoxidil.
I am happy with the front line and the appearance in some light levels. However bright sunshine or fluorescent lights in gym or shops or high contrast camera just show bald area and hair transplant at front. I was on a work call the other day and couldn’t look down to write on my pad because it was so obvious on webcam that I had a bald patch It’s really obvious. When I researched I spoke with numerous clinics (in person and with sending pics) inc. Maitland, dr, Fargo, Wimpol, Dr. Tam to name a few and their quotes ranged from 2000-3000 grafts. Westminster estimated between 2500-2800 and ended up putting in 2600 so a little more the average quote.

how many grafts can you harvest over a lifetime?
