Decent hair transplant clinics

Hi I'm looking for a decent hair transplant clinic, more leaning towards one's that only do 1 or 2 operations aday,as I don't wanna be just a number in a group, so I've decided to spend abit more money, my limits are around from £1500 to £4500 or so. Area anywhere in Europe. I nearly went with a company called 'Top Clinic' bit they seemed very cheap and I stopped short at booking flights, was this the right call? That's why I'm willing to spend more and get better hopefully. Next problem I'm thinking is my hair too far gonna would you say, as I don't wanna half job as I may as well keep it shaved(has been shaved short for about a year) but I'd really like my hair back if possible.... I will attach pics later today, any help/info most welcome.

Ur hairloss is very aggressive
Best thing to do is go on meds for 1 yr see what growth u get with that
Hold off any surgery
While u are on meds try save up bit more money ??? I know thats if u can especally how the world is now
I would concentrate on ur hairline first before the crown if u go down the transplant route
Go to a clinic who plans ur hairloss repair
Step by step
Are u based in uk?

If u go down the transplant route u will need 2 maybe 3 hair transplants to get ur hair back and even that the transplants could still look thin
Ive had 3 transplants all i had was a receding hairline only and im still not happy
Reading ur post maybe it is a better idea to just clipper it a number 1 guard all over
Grow some stubble
Just save u all the headache if u not happy
And trust me more often then not most patients are unhappy even if its a good result meaning u expect more density etc but transplants only give u so much
Bare that in mind

Thanks very much Phil for your input... Regarding medication I'm not on any.So your thinking it's not worth trying to do one? The hair loss is not aggressive in times of loss (unless you mean appearance) as I've been losing my hair very slowly for about 20 years.

Hi mate yeah u deffo need to go on meds for 1 yr to see what result u can achive also it will get ur hair in tip top shape if u go down the transplant route
U look like u could lose all the top of ur hair so u could get the horseshoe apperance
and with transplants it could just look like thin hair over a bald scalp so u could look worse
My opition go on meds for 1 yr get a shorter back and sides and touch longer on top and see how u get on
Knock surgery on the head for now
Ive been to all the hairloss clinics in the uk and the only one i thought yeah i trust u was dr edward ball maitland clinic
Yeah he is pricey but he will advise u on a plan and not just get u in the chair
What result are u after ?

Regarding hair line, when my hair is grown out its not tobad, I have quite thick hair(where there is some) it's just the front that shows badly, nobody can see the top of my head unless I sit down as I'm 6ft 4
So I was looking to sort the front and just thicken the top up abit.

Ok rhat sounds like a good plan
Honestly i think u should book appointment with dr ball and david anderson at the maitland clinic so they can see u in person and check your hair and donor area
I know they will give u good advise and and more importantly give u a plan on what to do from now on
U will feel so much better coming away from the consultation
Yeah there is clinics in turkey etc europe that are cheaper alot cheaper but i always think its better closer to home

Im not sure maybe 5 pound a graft ?
I think best 2 go and see them
I think consultations are 100 to 150 from what i rememher
Just be careful of not just going to one clinic after another cos alot of people do that u see just cos they get impatient as they just want a transplant thinking it will fix everything but it doesn't in most cases.
Plan is the key mate, trust me just take it slowly
Have a look on there website
The maitland clinic

Thanks mate, will bare this in mind, I will do some more research and see if it's worth doing/someone can do, regarding the UK clinics, they will probably be to expensive for me at £5 a graft with the amount I need, I'd set a rough guide at about £4500-5000 on it.

I know mate it is expensive in uk
Remember best to go on meds see how u get on with that always best plan to start with
Yeah just research research research
U are on the best forum in the uk so people on here just want the best for u k
U wont get any bullshit on here just honest advise
Good luck with it all

Dr Ball is probably one of, if not the, most expensive surgeons in the U.K.

If you need (for example) 4-5k grafts, that’ll be 4 or 5 times your budget.

There are cheaper options if you don’t mind travelling. Other posters will have preferred doctors, but you should look at the results posted on here and form an opinion on which represents the best value, and produces hairlines you like aesthetically.

Phil gives good advice on medication. It’s likely you’d need to take medication before and after surgery - another topic worthy of some research.

Good luck!

The challenge is that with higher Norwood levels there’s a greater need for more experienced surgeons and/or specialists in that scale of surgery.

There are surgeons abroad - Belgium, India, Turkey etc that fall into that category and will be cheaper than a U.K. surgeon.

My recommendation would be to get a consult in the U.K. where your donor area can be thoroughly assessed. You say you have thick hair, which is a bonus, you’ll also want to know about any existing scalp conditions, the number of grafts possible, the size of your follicular units, whether you have any miniaturisation in the donor area etc.

I’d guess any doctor would suggest you consider medication before surgery. That’s likely to be finasteride. You’ll want to understand whether you are a good candidate (and don’t suffer side effects) for that drug.

It’s likely to slow down your hair loss, increase hair health and possibly regrow some hair.

After 12 months, you’ll be in a better position to understand how many grafts you’ll need, and whether surgery is likely to give you the outcome you desire.

There’s also the issue of cost. I’d guess you’d be looking at least at £2-4 per graft. Even at £2, you’re likely to need 4K+ grafts to cover the area, or 3k for the front which will mean it’s likely you’ll need to use those 12 months to save extra money for the procedure.

Hair transplant surgery is somewhat of a gamble, but picking more experienced surgeons that can demonstrate consistent results is your best option to reduce the risks, and unfortunately that usually means paying for that expertise.
