This 51-year-old patient underwent a hair transplant procedure at our clinic in Glasgow to restore his receding hairline and thinning crown.
He sought a solution that would restore the density in the crown area and lower the hairline without altering the way it framed his face, aiming for a natural and age-appropriate appearance.
The primary challenge was to achieve a seamless and natural look while restoring hair density. The lateral humps were also thinning, creating a disconnection between the temporal and parietal scalp areas.

A total of 3986 grafts, amounting to 8588 hairs, were transplanted. Dr. Bonaros performed all the steps of the FUE hair transplant procedure. The grafts were extracted using a 0.85 mm motorized punch and implanted with sharp Implanter Pens.

Graft breakdown:
1-Hair FUs: 922 grafts -- 922 hairs
2- Hair FUs: 1761 grafts -- 3522 hairs
3-Hair FUs: 1083 grafts -- 3249 hairs
4-Hair FUs: 205 grafts -- 820 hairs
5-Hair FUs: 15 grafts -- 75 hairs
3986 grafts - 8588 Hairs
Hairs/Grafts Ratio: 2.15

Hey folks,

First of all, I would like to thank the wonderful, patient & truly talented team - Dr Bonaros & his Hair Restoration Nurse Katerina - for all the hard work they did in finally getting me here. And I wish to thank them for sharing my hair restoration journey, from pre, during and post-op.

Like many people who are seeking to go down the FUE rabbit hole, I can only give one piece of advice - Research, Research, Research!!!

Doing your due diligence will pay huge dividends. Most of your work is done after you do this. And once you have decided who you finally want to do your procedure, the rest is just trusting the process after that. This may be a short or much longer journey for some eg several months or up to maybe two years of researching. And this isn't even the start of the actual journey. The real journey starts the day after your procedure.

Since I live Scotland, I decided to go with Dr Bonaros. Dr Basinga was also on my short list. But travel and in person appointments etc were a couple of factors why I chose Dr B. He ticked many of the boxes I was looking for viz., he was both an ISHRS and a BAHRS Member.

I was originally quoted for 3500 grafts by Dr Bonaros. He said he would do his best to do more if he could and managed almost another 500 grafts. This was done at no extra cost also.

My procedure was performed over two full days (2 x 8hrs or thereabouts). This includes breaks and lunch.

I am currently on Min & Fin.

If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer them. If not, I'm sure Dr Bonaros will. He should know. I literally asked scores of questions during the 2 days to him and Katerina and their knowledge has no bounds. He answered them all. And one time he had to ask me not to talk and ask questions for a short spell as the blood rushes to your mouth, face and head causing it to bleed more.

Dr Bonaros & Katerina are truly dedicated and passionate about what they do.

They are changing people's lives, one head at a time!!!

Hey Im new here,

Thanks. Being a vain, old man I like to dye my hair 6-8 times a year. I am 85-90% grey at present. Dr Bonaros said I would be able to dye my hair after 2-4 weeks I think. That is why some of my hair is growing in 'white' lol.

Thanks

I attach a side profile pic done by Katerina. This shows me at my initial consultation to 12 months post procedure.

PS Please forgive my red and swollen face on the left. I had just gone through full ablative laser 4 weeks earlier.
