Dr Karadeniz it's good that you speak up to educate prospective patients on the perils of not researching. Lots of people are lured to clinics via impressive websites making all sorts of claims and the obvious very low price. Turkeys governing health body must be pretty lax to allow so many unqualified people perform surgery. At least there are good doctors like yourself willing to help.

Thank you.
There are two main difficulties with this that may be described as tragicomical.

1. Most patients just don't understand the consequences of choosing a technician clinic. I am copying a recent email exchange that I had with a UK patient that ended up choosing a technician clinic.

Clinic:
I hope you are doing well. Did you make your mind about having the hair transplant? Are there any questions that we could answer to help you?

Patient:
I already had it done. Thank you

Clinic:
Thank you for the feedback.Could you share with us which clinic you chose, which treatment method you went for and the reasons for not choosing us so we can use this information to improve our services.Your feedback is appreciated.

Patient:
Yes it was xxx. They were a little more accomadating as far as my schedule was concerned. I was on a very tight schedule and was unsure if I was going to able to come at all, so it was the flexibility. It was between your company and there's as quality was the most important thing for me. Both of your responses were quick.

Clinic:
Thank you.I am curious, I don €™t know a hair surgeon in that company.
Was there a surgeon doing your graft extractions and recipient incisions or was it technicians?

Patient:They were technicians overseen by a doctor. Very professional and sanitary. I was very happy with the results.

Clinic:I wish you good luck.

2. A colleague of mine when to the ministry of health to complain about technician clinics. He told me that they asked him how many hair surgeons there were in Turkey. He replied 20 ( a little exaggerating). The minister asked him if the 20 doctors could make 1 billion Dollars a year!

Good video explaining why we need to take our time and research before having surgery.
