Finasteride

Hello,

I'm 25 years old and I noticed slight hair loss first probably around the age of 21. Recently it seems to have gone up a gear and I have noticed that it is receding more and I can see my scalp if I stand under a bright light. It has seriously knocked my confidence and it's all I seem to think about.
So I arranged to go for a HT consultation (Farjo in Manchester). He basically said that a HT would be the worst thing to do at the minute and that hopefully taking Finasteride should do the trick, meaning that I should hopefully never need a HT.

However after having a look on the internet I found a video of a guy on "This Morning" basically saying that his penis disappeared and that it mentally pretty much ruined his life c;;9. Just wondering how many people have heard of these kinds of extreme reactions before? Also how many people on here take the drug with little to no side effects?

Sides effects are definately something you need to consider before taking any drug. It's a small percentage of men, I think about 4 % who suffer sexual side effects.
Going in my own experience, I've used Finasteride for 10 years with no problems, it's helped retain my hair without a doubt. For me the risk of side effects was worth it.
Remember, some people will die from taking Penicilin, eating peanuts etc. It's a choice you have to make yourself.
