I had my first smp session today and idk if this is normal or not. Will this fade and shrink to look normal? It's been a little over 12 hours since my session. I know I know that the dots will settle, fade, and shrink. Just seems very harsh and stands out a lot. Hoping for the best.

This could be excess surface ink congregating. Once you have a scalp wash you’ll have a clear view of what it looks like. If you could add a picture after washing?

That is what I'm thinking and hoping! I'll add pics after washing here in a few more days

How long do they say you need to wait before washing?
I looked on their site but couldn’t see any SMP results.
Are you on a treatment plan with them for your thinning hair?

Is your hair improving with the treatment?
Waiting 4/5days after the session is what most clinics say for hair washing.
When I had Smp they provided a special type of shampoo to use.

I'm not sure. My first wash will be Tuesday. No special shampoo. Just said to stay away from sulfate I think and special shampoos like dandruff shampoo

Ask them if baby shampoo is ok to use. It’s not harsh on the scalp.

You said you've been going to them for a while now. Why? For your hair loss? What else have they recommended or done?

A lot of the surface ink has cleared with the wash.
Will you be having SMP over your full scalp or just the area already worked on?
What are the treatments/medications you're having with the clinic?

Yes for my hair loss. Started with minoxidil, spironolactone, and hair toppers. Going to do smp over the whole top of my head where it's thin at

Did they diagnose/state what is causing your hair loss?

Have they mentioned the possibility of using Finasteride and Oral Minoxidil?

The solution I have is minoxidil/finasteride. Nothing about oral minoxidil. Is that for women too?

I am fairly certain women of any age can use it. Ask your Derm or an online pharmacy about it.
