I’ve just reached 14 months since my hair transplant at ASMED with Dr Koray Erdogan and would like to share my progress so far.
I’m 32 and my hair had been receding/thinning since my early 20’s. I can say without doubt getting a hair transplant has been the best decision of my life and so happy and grateful I choose ASMED. Has literally been life changing in so many positive ways. Just the confidence and self esteem it has brought me back has made the whole journey worth every penny. I didn’t realise how the hairline framing my face could have such an impact either.
I’m sure many guys have noted their experiences at ASMED but based on my own experience the staff and clinic itself is first class.
I’m going to attach some photos now but Dr Erdogan gave me 2 options regarding the hairline as my hair loss was worse than first thought. I choose the second option which was 1,000 more grafts but included the hairline being slightly lower and the inclusion of side temples too. The result has exceeded my expectations by far as I was realistic prior to surgery based on my hair loss and hair thickness too. Hair thickness is 55 microns and I started finasteride 6 weeks prior to surgery which I continue to take now along with MSM and hair vitamins. Thank you ASMED for changing my life forever!

The next set of photos are up until the 1 year mark which I documented. I’m going to attach a photo of my donor at 7 weeks post surgery too and looked untouched. I get a skin fade haircut and not one person has ever noticed the scarring even though I have the back and sides shaved down to the skin.

At 10 months my barber changed my hairstyle to a more slick back style and that was the moment for me. Any progress after that was kind of a bonus for me. Last photo is my latest around 13.5 months.
Any feedback appreciated :)

Hi Craig. Welcome to the forum.
At first glance it looked like you didn't have that much hair loss. It wasn't until viewing the rest of your pictures that it becomes apparent how much hair you had lost. The transplant has worked well, your hair looks great now. A nice bonus your barber giving you a new hairstyle, the look suits you and you have the option to chop and change to whatever you feel like.
Thanks for sharing your story.
All the best.
Bm.

Thank you mate. I always had a comb over since my late teens to disguise my hair loss but the reality was my hair was getting quite bad and felt at 31 was the right time to do it. Appreciate your feedback and love my new style and the options I’ve got. I prefer my hair longer and think it adds to giving the illusion my hair looking more dense/thicker then it probably actually is. This photo says a lot attached to how bad my hair had got and the actual amount of work needed.

Amazing results man. Delighted for you. Dr Erdogan is an amazing Dr and the Asmed clinic is first class.

Just wondering if you are receiving any kick back from the clinic for promoting your journey with Asmed? The reason I ask is that you appear to be really actively sharing your journey in the past few weeks including Instagram live with the clinic.

I have no issues if you are receiving a kick back but just think you should make it clear for the readers of the forum.

Thanks Jack. No not receiving anything from the clinic. They asked me a few weeks back to make a video showing my progress which would be used for Insta, and I noticed the video got put on YouTube too. For what the clinic has done for me it’s the least I could do for them. They’ve changed my life forever so got no issues in sharing my results or experience at the clinic

I didn’t actually know I was going to be appearing on the Instagram live. I heard the doctor was doing online consultations through zoom, so I thought would be a good opportunity to speak with the doctor again, but literally seconds before my time slot I was told to join Instagram live. That was why I was late joining as I wasn’t expecting to do the Insta live thing and wasn’t 100% how to join it either. If anything I’m slightly honoured the clinic has chosen me to share my results on their social platforms.

Hi Craig. Yes you had a lot of loss that you disguised well. Waiting a decade before getting your hair transplant was wise, just a shame you had to endure the heartache of hair loss at a very young age. Those years should be carefree but that's in the past now. You can make up for it now and enjoy your new hair and look.
I`ll take a look at the Instagram too now you`re famous.

Thank you. Yes having significant hair loss in your 20’s sucks but as you say I’ve certainly got many years ahead to enjoy the new hair and hopefully Finasteride can do it’s thing too.
Haha I actually had a 70 min FaceTime call through Instagram recently with a guy who wants to get a hair transplant and considering Asmed.
Just out of interest are you the moderator which recently done an Instagram live chat with Dr Erdogan? I know the guy was from this forum but his hair looked great

Hi Craig. Yes, that was me. I started losing my hair at 24. Unfortunately, I ended up at the Demon Barber named Norton for my transplants. It took years to have them repaired. Finasteride has helped me keep the rest of my hair, it was my saviour together with my repair surgery.
I`m sure the Finasteride will help you as long as you don`t suffer any sides.

It`s good of you to give your time and chat with others researching. Speaking with patients is very helpful.

Oh cool, your hair looked great I thought. Who did you repair work? I’ve been on Fin for 16 months now and luckily no side effects. Yes mate and with what’s going on I’ve got more time on my hands to share my experience. The forums really helped me to learn about what clinics existed outside of the UK

Good to hear no sides. I`ve been on Finasteride since 2005 with no problems except slight man boobs but nothing major. I don`t need a bra.
Shapiro Medical Group did my repairs beginning in 2008. I needed a few surgeries due to the damage that was done. You can see my update here My 12 year update
Yes, more time right now to help others and giving something back. I`m glad the forums help you. Good forums really are an invaluable source of information and like here, you know the reviews are vetted and real.
