FUE at Hair Dr Clinic, Leeds (Dr Arshad) – 3,500 Grafts – 28-Jan-2021

Hi All,

I finally did it!!!!

I’ve spent the last few years looking at various hair transplant website and was lucky enough to find this site. Real people with real experiences will an unbiased view. Even after finding this website I spent another year going through the process of “I’m going to do this” quickly followed by “I can’t do this”.

So I finally had a confident moment and took the plunge with Dr Arshad and his team at the Hair Dr Clinic (on 28th January 2021). I can assure you going to the Hair Dr was everything I could of hoped for and more. With a 3rd lockdown happening and having to work from home this became the best time for me to get this done.

From the moment I walked through the door every single person at the Hair Dr clinic made me feel welcome and at ease.

The day consisted of a meeting with Dr Arshad at 7am to design my hair line.

I was originally quoted for 3,000 grafts but was pleased when Dr Arshad said my donor area was good enough for me to have up to 3,500 grafts.

This was followed by being prepared for the procedure (hair shaved) and then the numbing of the donor area. I’m not going to lie the injections were painful but bearable. But what’s 2 minutes of pain to have the chance to get back the hair you’ve always dreamed of. The anaesthetics numbs the area very quickly and the extraction stage is painless and the time flies.

Once extraction was finished we stopped for lunch which the hair dr team kindly provided. This gave the team time to count and prepare the hairs.

After lunch It was time to move on to making channels for the grafts (Performed by Dr Arshad). The number of injections administered for this was a lot less than the morning session. Still painful but just count to 30 and it is over very quickly.

For the final stage I had 4 technicians working on me to implant the hairs. This took quite a while but I actually fell asleep for a large part of it. Absolutely no pain and I was bandaged and finished by 6pm.

I just can’t speak highly enough about my experience at the Hair Dr. Fingers crossed the results progress like many others have recorded on this site.

Nb - I’m not really one for writing reviews. But I felt that this site has helped me so much that I’d try and provide my experience to help others.

All looking good Robbo, glad your experience with The Hair Dr was great, just like mine and many others on here. Now it’s a waiting game to see that excellent result. Hold in there fella

Hi Robbo and welcome. It`s good to hear you found the forum helped with your research and that you had a good experience with the clinic. You`ll be a new man once those grafts are grown in.
Are you on any type of hair loss prevention regimen?
I`ll look forward to following your progress.
All the best.
Bm.

Thank you for having me.

With regards to a hair loss prevention regime. I tried finasteride around 5 or 6 years ago and it caused me some side effects. I’m currently taking it again as part of the Hair Dr’s post procedure timetable. Historically I’ve been reliant on minoxidil.
Going forward, I’m intending to take Finasteride every other day and continue to use Minoxidil twice a day (once I’ve healed - To see if I still get the same or any side effects). I’ll also be adding a daily Biotin supplement to my routine. Another option was the supplement “saw Palmetto” that I may use on the days I’m not using Finasteride (I’m still researching as not sure how effective this is or if it’s worth taking)
Is there anything else you’d recommend please?

If Finasteride works on the lower dosage, no sides, I would see how that goes for now. Saw Palmetto is still debatable if it helps but many do report positive effects. There are reports of side effects from it as well.
Methylsulfonylmethane known as MSM is used by many to strengthen hair and accelerate growth. I used it on a few occasions and I`d say it did make my hair grow that little bit quicker.

It feels good to wash your hair the first few times. Removing the scabs and returning to a normal look gives you a feeling of satisfaction and excitement for what lies ahead.
You look to be healing well. The Crown looks a bit redder than the front but all normal.

Healing is going well. You may notice redness, especially once the hairs have shed but its all part of the process.
